SNYDER—Work of closing the
last 500 foot gap in the dam for
tlte Upper Colorado River lake 20
miles southwest of here has been
resumed. This dam is part of a
$12 million dollar project of the
Colorado River Municipal Water
District to supply Odessa, Big
. Spring and Snyder.
It is predicted that the closure
Of the gap in the three mile dam
will be completed by Sept. 1. Thir-
teen mounds, which will form is-
lands for future oil drilling, have
'been built in the reservoir basin.
Oil companies will use consid-
erable water from the lake for
repressuring oil fields and have
paid the water district $160,000 for
rerouting part of the pipeline. This
will be absorbed later out of water
^purchases.
