ing for several yoars. India made an excep-
tionably largo crop last year and is much
more likely to reduce her exportable aggre-
gate than to incr ase it The southwest
monsoon broke at Dombay about tho 8th of
June and an abundant rainfall was realized
from two hundred miles south and along tho
northern coast but in July and August a
sovore drought prevailed south of this limit
and oast in tho district producing tho Oom-
