gaged in arguing a question boforo the court

have time to watt until the case wat conce-

and presented him the account. The judge
eyed the bey as did the attorney whose argu-
ment was cut short off and producing
his purse ne hi.nded the boy
the amount at the same time
ordering the sheriff to take him in charge for

lector. Ho Found Him a Wife.
Mr. C. F. B. Schau a young Gorman ar-
rived in this city a short time since and mere
recently he received information that there
were some moneys coming to him from the
family estate in the fndarland. He cannot
speak a word of English and in his search
for some competent person to attead to his
business he secured the services of Mr. J. E.
Wolf who succoeded in getting his property
for him which amounted to some $1200.
He wanted a farm and Mr. Wolf found on
that suited him ; but still he wat not con-
tent and lie took a fancy that if he had a
wife he would ba ever is' much happier. The
old saying that "richot dees not brine; con-
tentment wat veriled in his case. He had
ample and yet he wat sot happy. He
wanted some one to enjoy it with him and
so ha went to Mr. Wolf and told
him that he wanted him to got him
a wife and Mr. Wolf wai equal to the omer
gency and in casting about for a suitable
persoa to till the bill he caught onto his cook
a bright German girl whom he persuaded

them to two hounes in Waco obtaining the
cash therefor : that subsequently a draft of
Morris Butt & Co. tor amouut of invoice of
goods sold him direct being presented to mm
lie made partial payment ot $109 on tht same.

Kt Louis. Durnoiinz to pay the balance of
the draft t the firm there but that in the
interim their state agent arriving at Waco
and hearing: thut ho was ia Dallas t deeraphed
hcra to the citv marshal to make demand for
itt immediate payment; that thereupon ha
determined to return to Waco and settle it
there with the state agent.

a distance of two miles beyond there towards
Denton to conneat with the Dallas & Wich-
ita road which hitB been finished to a point

for the ties and iron atd tho road is being
built from beth cuds at rapidly at possible
and the work will be done by the 1st of Feb
ruary.
