bound 2 o'clock passenger train of the
Chesapeake Ohio A Southwestern railway
ran into tho north-bound passenger train
on the Chicago St. bonis Si New Orleans
railway yesterday evening smashing one
coach and one Pullman sleeper. The Ches-
apeake Ohio A- Southwestern engine was
thrown from the trait un.l completely
wrecked. No one win killed. The engineer
of the tirst named train claims that his ilag-
man was on I nc crossing tirst and that the
accident was "o fault of his.

Tennesse special says: News has just
been received here of a terrible collision on
the new railroad Irom Chattanooga to At-
lanta which was opened vostorday. A
freight train wits standing on the main
track and was run Into bvn passongcrtialn.
The wreck was fearful. H'ho engineer and
fireman are known to bo killed and two
children uie fatally injured.

lanta division of the Fast Tennesse Vir-
ginia it (ieorgia railroad collided with
a freight train at Caltewah
station twenty miles from here. Knginver
James N. Waters and Pilot John Hobbs on
the passenger train were killed. Their
bodies wero burned in a terrible man-
ner. When the bodies were found Waters
had his arm tightly clasped around II. dibs.
Ilobbs lost ids beurings and passed the
switch which was only a few vards Irom
where the freight train was stuniling. The
II reman escaped by jumping olf. No one
else received any serious Injuries. The
engine was demolished and tho baggage
car badly damaged liobbs lived here
