Description
- Content Description: Photograph of a row of businesses that remain standing after the Corpus Christi hurricane of 1919. Caption on back of photo, "Some of the best looking parts of the wrecked part of the business section. This is in the block back of Water Street. It is so small it doesn't show up much. I believe this is where the laundry stood. It's rather hard to recognize the wrecks of places even if you were familiar with the location before the storm. You almost don't recognize your own home." Also noted by C.S. Baskin," Building on the right was W.O.W. Hall - now a 2 story concrete parking garage is on this corner - the next building, center of picture was Captain Kennedy's office"
