MR. H. R. Stbvkns :
In 1872 your VEOETTNE was recommended to me.
and yiclulng to tlie persuasions of a friend I consented
to ti-y It. At the time I was suffering from general de-
bility and nervous prostration superinduced by over-
work and irregular habits. Its wonderful BtreneUipnlng
and curative properties seemed to affect my debilitated
system from the first dose j and under Its persistent use
I rapidly recovered gaining more than usual health and
good reeling. Since then I have not hesitated to give
VEUETINE my most unqualified indorsement as being
a safe sun) and powerful agent in promoting health ana
restoring the wasted system to new life and energy.

Banking on a Limited Capital.
A Queer banker has just come to
grief at Philadelphia in the person of
Charles Henderson who boasted $ 250-
000 capital and promised 15 per cent
interest on deDosits. According to one
of the newspapers he didn't ..know what
a ten-forty bond was. According to His
clerks who were his chief victims he
never had as much as $300 in the bank
making the money-lender's usual dis-
play in the windows of the shop with
some $00 in actual money and the rest
in piles of Confederate scrip.topped with
one greenback to each pile and the im-
posing but bulky half-dollar of the dad-
dies. From his clerks he demanded a
