The young folks as usual enjoyed them-
selves hugely and regretted the arrival of

a part of the residence of Mrs. Bruce.
J. J. Barbee was the first man to lay a
pavement beyond the corner on tho south
side of San Antonio street. S. B. Bales is
following suito in front of his stable.

ble to twice its former size the new addi-

Mr. McClellan has gono to Lockhart and
we learn will exhibit practical candy-making
on the streets. We doubt not the ex-

Mr. C. Capron has built a handsome
schooner for Mr Holmes of the Water-
works. H may be seen just by Mac kin's
shop. We presume it is to ply on the San
Marcos or its 'tributaries."
Billy Williamson is ont of luck the new
railroad snrvey goes riwht through his door-

cutting off a comer of his land. He is a
poor mau and there is no question that he
should be fairly and liberally dialt with iu
the way of damages.
Miss Jenn!e Jones died in this place on
Monday. She and two other invalid sis-
ters came from Jefferson Texas with their
brother to this place some two month since
from considerations of health. The re-
mains of the deceased were shipped to their
old home where all the family have returned.

Happening in at the shop of Mr. J . E.
Morris ouo day last week we notified a
crowd of wen inside and at firHt couM not
divine the cause. We soon found the at-
traction to be tho Boss Planter patented
manufactured and sold by Mr. Morris. We
noticed iu the throng Juo. S Brown. J. P.
Kone and several other of our best farmers.
While thy were expatiating on the merits
of the "Boss" in oame H. E. Davis and in-
sisted on forthwith purchasing the last re-
maining one iu tho shop but othors will at
ouce be forthcoming. Our town ought to
be proud of a workman who had the brains
to invent and skill to execute so popular
and useful au implomeut for our farmers.
We tire glad he is making a good thiug out
of it he well deserves his success.
