handling various kinds of mail It is recorded that 4,258
ship letters were handled in the quarter. $9.96 was spent for
advertising letters. It cost $10.60 to transport the Houston
mail to and from the boats for the. quarter. At the end of the
three months the Galveston P. 0. was $259.77i in debt.8
