Mrs. Harry Buckstetn 1921 Hur
ley avenue gave a surprise party in
honor of Misses Ida Goldberg Flo
Cohen and Ida Abrams. While three
young men took the three young ladies
out for a drive the guests arrived at
Mrs. Buckstein's home and each of the
guests had a little parting remem-
brance for the departing young ladies.
A delightful evening was enjoyed by
all of the guests. Refreshments and
dancing were the features of the even-
ing. Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Karp after a
lengthy stay on the western coast and
northern points are visiting their
aunt Mrs. A. L. Veit on their way
home.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Saikin spent tho
day Wednesday in Dallai buying new
furniture for their home at 2!M 1 South
Jennings Avenue.
Mrs. Ike Sandler entertained at a
beautifully appointed bridjre pnrty at
10 o'clock Wednesday motnini; in hon-
or of her sister Mrs. Louis Daiches
and Mrs. P. Karasor both of Breckin-
ridge. In the game of bridge h'gh
score prize was won by VI n. Laurence
Gernsbacher. Consolation by Mrs.
Morris Fred and hand mniu handker-
chiefs were given to the tv.vhonortis
After the game a delictus three-
course luncheon was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Gartner left Tues-
day for an overland trio t points or
interest in Colorado.
Mrs. Louis Daiches is the guet of
her parents Mr. and Mn. J. Weber
and sister Mrs. Sandler and MUs
Weber.
Mrs. P. Karasor of Breckenridgo is
a guest in the J. Weber home.
News has been received here of the
birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs.
Irving Rosenberg (Erma Steifel) Lo?

Miss Eva Kassover of Little Rock
is the guest of Mrs. Peter Cooles.
Mrs. Sam Rosenfield and daughters
have returned to their home at Clarks-
ville. Mrs. Charles Swartzberg and chil-
dren are spending a while at Mineral
Wells.
Mrs. H. Samson and children are
visiting in Ranger.
Mrs. Mollie Roth has returned from
a delightful stay at Mineral Wells.
Mrs. Max Cohn son and daughter
Leona motored to Mineral Wells Sun-
day where they will spend a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cooles chaperon-
ed a party of boys and girls to Lake
Worth Wedneday evening in honor of

ARAB DELEGATION SEEKS AU-
DIENCE WITH CHURCHILL.
London: (J. C. B.) The Arab dele-
gation which arrived here yesterday
from Paris has taken steps to secure
an audience with Colonial Miniser
Churchill. The opinion prevails here
that it will not be officially received
by Churchill though it may receive a
hearing at the ministry. The delega-
tion has incurred public disfavoi
through its connections with the
French government which is hostile to
British policies in the Near East
PALESTINE MILITIA NOT CON-
FINED TO JEWS.
London: (By J. C. B.) In spite of
the repeated protest of the Waad Ha-
leumi against a mixed Palestine mili-
tia High Commissioner Sir Herbert
Samuel has ordered the immediate
formation of a military force of 600
men to consist of Jews Christians and
Arabs alike. Under the circumstances
it is regarded as doubtful whetl
Jewel will join the newly created battalion.
MORE ATTACKS UPON JEWS
Warsaw: (J. T. A.) Polish soldiers
in Posen made a mid-day attack upon
the Jewish population in the Galician
towns of Tlushtch and Malkin broke
into Jewish shops and carried off
large loads of merchandise. The Jews
some beaten aome horror-stricken
fled the towns.
Other attacks were perpretated in
Lodz. The police cooly witnessed the
proceedings and turned a deaf ear to
the appeals of the beaten Jews that
the guilty be apprehended.
In the town of Kobrin near Brisk
the Jewish population was denied th
privilege of opening an eye-hospital
for the treatment of the rapldlly
spreading disease this in spite of the
fact that the Jews had a building and
the necessary medicamets.
CHIEF RABBI HERTZ DUE IN
NEW YORK AUG. 12TH.
New York: (J. C. B.) The Chief
Rabbi of Great Britain Dr. Joseph
Herts will arrive in New York City
on August 12th and will remain here
for a fortnight .Rabbi Herts is one of
first graduates of the Jewish TheologU
cal Seminary and it is understood
that a special reception in the Semin-
ary is being arranged for him.
Dr .Herts is returning to England
from an extended trip around Um
world visiting almost all the British
dominions and colonies. He spent the
last two weeks In Canada addressing
gatherings in most of the larger Jw
ish communities. On Monday of last
week he arrived in Montreal and was
met at the station by Rabbi Dr.
Abromowitx Rabbi Zvi Cohen and
Rabbi Merritt of Temple EmanueL He
was the official guest of the mayor
of the city and visited he Important
Jewish communal institutions. On
Tuesday he left for Quebec.
