Mrs. J. A. Arvin has returned
from a months visit in Brown-
wood. She was accompanied
home by her son, Dr. J. Noland
Arvin and his wife and cousin.
They made the trip Sunday in
Dr. Arvin's oar, a Ford, leaving
Brownwood at 6 a. in. and arriv-
ing in Mexia at 8 p.m. The
register showed 197 miless, which
its going some for country roads.

Mrs. D. C. Head has returned
from Fort Worth accompanied by

mother, Mrs. B. J. Head, who
will visit with her for several

DIED.—Mr. Thomas Marion
Wood, father of Mr. T. E. Wood,
the plumber, died yesterday af-
ternoon at the home of his son
in this city. The remains were
sent to Erie, Kans., on the Hust-
ler this afternoon for burial.
Mr. Wood had been here with his
son for several weeks, and hiis
death was caused by paralysis.

and children have returned from
a two months stay in Corpus
