DEFENSE ENROLLM ENT E LIG IB ILITY REPORTING SYSTEM
Time is growing short for enrollment into the Defense Enrollment Eligi-
bility Reporting System (DEERS).
SOME SOLDIERS are realizing that they don’t have all the necessary
documentation to get their dependents enrolled.
If you do not have appropriate documentation proving the relationship of
your dependent(s) certified copies of registered personal documents (such
as certificates for births adoption marriage divorce and death) can be
obtained by writing to the state where the event was registered (or State
Department for children born overseas to U.S. citizens)
States usually charge a fee for this service. The list of addresses included
in the retiree/survivor mail-out packet will show the latest available prices.

While it may still be the time of year for water sports
and baseball strikes local waterfowl hunters realize
their sport is barely two months away from it’s opening
days.
THEREFORE the Texas Parks and Wildlife Depart-
ment reminds duck hunters that the noewly-established
state duck stamp will be required along with a hunting
license when the 1981-82 waterfowl seasons begin with
the special early September teal season. Federal law also
requires waterfowl hunters to purchase a federal miga-
tory waterfowl stamp available from post offices.
The new $5 duck stamp will eventually benefit hunters
by underwriting increased waterfowl research manage-
ment and gaining new habitats. The stamps will be avail-
able prior to the hunting season at department offices
around the state and from sporting goods and other re-
tail outlets which sell hunting licenses.
The state duck stamp was authorized by the Texas
Legislature mainly to support waterfowl programs with-
in the state.
For information on Fort Hood hunting seasons and
requirements contact the Fish and Wildlife Section at
685-2885.
