“The Master Wings” Sutton said
“represent the highest level an
aviator can reach. It marks those who
wear it as truly exceptional and well-
rounded aviators. It requires those
who strive for that goal to maintain a
safe record and stay proficient in all
aspects of aviation. In fact by the
time you’ve earned Master Wings
you’ve done it all.”
In conclusion Sutton expressed
the feelings of all those who received
these highest of aviation ratings
when he said. “It just means an awful
lot to me.”

Jackson will direct the choir
through a pleasant yet demanding
practice session sometimes with a
small child cradled in one arm so the
parent a choir member can concen-
trate more fully on the job at hand.
This kind of family atmosphere
coupled with the opportunity not
only to perform music for others but
to actually share and help fellow
choir members and others is no
doubt a key element in the great suc-
cess of the choir.
From its beginnings in 1978 with
but five members the choir has
grown according to Jackson first to
seven then to 15 and so on until now
it has 60 members who pay dues to
help meet choir expenses.
The choir has performed all over
the Central Texas area— from Austin
to Dallas from Copperas Cove to
Waco and just about everyplace in
between.
“We’ve worn out a lot of cars”
joked Williams as sh'e spoke of the
busy schedule of weekly concerts.
Williams also spoke of the great
support given to the choir by those

chaplains great but their wives help
and care so much about people in-
cluding the choir members.”
Chaplain Sanford the DivArty
chaplain explained the significance
of God’s Children to the Red Team
Chapel. “When I came here four
years ago we had only 12 people in
church. Then the choir was begun
and since then attendance has grown
to the point that we don’t have
enough room inside the church
building. We have had people over-
flowed into the parking lot.
“These people are just dynamite”
he said. “They have such a willing-
ness to do just whatever is necessary.
And it is not just in church. The
Christian love that is at the center of
this choir fills the everyday lives of
these people. It touches the lives of
all those they work with and meet
during the week. That is why our
church is so active at this time.”
And the song goes on: “I give my
life to the glory of God. Yes Lord.”
God’s Children sing the song and
then do it.
