Gray said Fort Hood has
three basic material-collecting
methods. “We have dumpsters
for cardboard at unit supply
rooms and shipping ware-

lot of cardboard.
“Then we have individual
bins for paper in offices and
large dumpsters in strategic lo-

“But if we recycle that’s less
stuff we don’t have to put in

Lieutenant Colonel Stephen

“It took us five years of pa-
perwork to get the permit.
There were permit fees and

costs are high though and we

“BUT LOOK at it on a glo-
bal basis. It takes less fuel to
recycle aluminum than it does
to mine the ore. It takes less
fuel to recycle aluminum than
it does to process the raw ma-

oxide going into the air and
that lessens the problem of glo-
bal warming” Gray said.

gas is not.”
