HURRICANE IS SCHEDULED
TO STRIKE NEW ORLEANS;
COURSE SffiFTS TO NORTH
HY Till; AH.'KM.IATi:fi IMtKKfl.
NEW ORLEANS Sept. 21. Observer I. M dine of
the United SUtes weather bureau luu just notified Super
intenoent of Police Msrooy to warn all people in outlying
suburbs that the hurricane will strike New Orleans in full
force within three hours or about 1 :30 a. m.
The storm situation is summarized by the Associated Press at
follows:
Communities alone the cull coats from the Florida peninsula
tip to the Texas Uf oons prepared last night for emergency of storm
and flood today while weather bureau warnings told of a vortex of
a t ropical hurricane dragging its attendant circles of roaring gales
slowly toward the mainland. The traffic lines in the gulf itself were
clearing fast as ship masters apprised by wireless of the advent of
high seas and wind ran into port for shelter.
