It i an unfortunate fact the
State does not make proper final
cial provision for the A. anil M
college. At the recent annua
meeting of the Hoard of Directors
it was found ue-e-sary to suspend
the Farmers' Institute work for
lack of fund-1. For the same rea

of the Eagle I watch with interest
the correspondent's letters uiving
their neighborhood news and crop
reports; not only our own country
but many interesting letters from
various parti of the state. As
most of these letters are from far
mers or people interested in that
industry I would be glad to see
helps in cauning fruits and vege
tables as liraz ) county can always
raise enough produce for home
consumption and even a surplus
it we had some way to cm our
produce at home or a canning fac
tory iu Bryan would make a mar
ket for us and farmers would be
more interested in diversification.
As it is it is not interesting rl
profitable for farmers to raise uiee
gardens and let them waste in the
fields.
