Receipts of quarantine cattle here last
week were moderate at 200 car loads
and the market closed the week 10
to 15 higher than close of previous
week. Run of quarantines today Is
extra heavy at 210 car loads market
10 lower. The supply today ' conies
from a wide expanse of territory em-
bracing. Texas Louisiana Oklahoma
ami Arkansas and the quality la like
wise greatly diversified. Steera range
from $6.10 for the best fed ateera
down to 1423 for low g'ade grassers
and fair to good rows sell at $3.75 to
$I.S0 calves fit) rents blgher than a
week ago best $6.75. The native ter
ritory has been pretty well combed of
fed cattl. and the liberal supply to
day finds a more ready sale on account
of fears of buyer that future receipts
will be small. eseclally of native cat-
tle. The domestic meat trade Is in
good condition and is gradually ex-
panding In spite of the lilgh level of
prices account of Improved Industrial
conditions In the east but thla la part-
ly offset by a slump tn Export trade
account of weakness In foreign mar-
kets. Although bogs closed last week 10
to 15 ceuts below the best time aver-
age price's for the week were highest
of the year and top price $7.50 was
also highest for this year and the
best price paid here In the last six
years. Run Is 11.00 head today mar
ket five hlpher on heavy hogs. 5 to
10 higher on medium and light weights

ing all weights. May receipts of hogs
show a shortage of 50.000 head from

cent and predictions of a heavy June
movement are net made with as much
fervor or confidence as a few weeks
