attacked with a hatchet an attendant
of the Dore Art Uallery who tried to
prevent her destroying priceless pic-
tures. He wss seriously Injured. She
destroyed two paintings before he saw
her. She left a letter saying that suf-
fragettes heretofore had been "too
ladylike" and must now fight for tbelr
lights.

Resolution Offered Asking Wilson to
Confer With England Over
Panama Tolls Dispute.

Washington June 3. The Senate
Foreign Relations Committee today
adopted the Sutherland resolution di-
recting the President to open negotia-
tions with Great Britain for a special
arbitration for the Panama tolls dis-
pute. The vote was 8 to 6 by which'
the resolution goes to the Senate.
Senator O'Gorman said the resolu-
tion did not affect the Senate's con-
sideration of the tolls repeal bill.
