Dinner over the guests repaired to
the music room where after dinner
guests awaited their coming. A de-
lightful program of entertainment fur-
nished pleasure followed by a serving
of brick cream and angel cake. On
each plate was a corsage bouquet und
bouttonlere for each guest the flow-
ers further emphasizing the class
colors. '
As an aftermath to the home pleas-
ures the party enjoyed a splendid pro-
gram of pictures shown at the Dixie

High School Seniors Entertained.
The seniors of the high school were
turtums thelr rcn yellow and red
shades filled pretty baskets and bowls
and dainty ferns were In charming
evidence. The dining room was ex-
ceedingly beautiful ln its rich appoint-
'ments. A lovely lace cover was on
the table and a Tiffany basket ol
white roses gave the central adorn-
ment. A punch bowl embedded In
ferns and roses on a side table held
a delicious fruit beverage which was
' served all during the evening.

plness were in the heart of each guest
present. A series of contests were

Bride-Elect Showered.
Miss Annie Belle Batte whose ap-
proaching marriage to Mr. M. A. Mil-
ler is a matter of much Interest was
delightfully complimented yesterday

with a surprise miscellaneous shower
In honor of the young bride-elect.
Every detail of the affair was ex-
tremely elegant and In ensemble It
was perfect the appointments and
decorations reflecting the exquisite
taste and cordial hospitality which al-
ways characterize tha entertain-
ments given by this charming hos-
tess. The lovely M. II. James home gave
a fitting environment for the after-
noon pleasures and had its Inherent
charm enhanced by the placing of
blossoms and foliage plants.
In the entrance hall' clusters of
shasta daisies In crystal holders
showed to advantage and standing In
this bower of beauty was dainty lit-
tle Miss Frances Harriet James and
Master Jack Bird Eaatham who open-
ed the door for the guests. In the
drawing room the delicate pink roses
seemed an especially fitting environ-
ment for the fair honoree and the
hostess who stood witn .Mesuames m.
H. James and J. W. James and gave
greetings of welcome to the guests.
The library adjoining was made ad-
dltlonally attractive with a tasty ar-
rangement of lavender sweet peas
Tables placed In these rooms bore
clunny lace covers and held at the

novel and original game pertaining to
courtship marriage ioneymoons
etc. furnished pleasing and appro-
priate entertainment whllo at the

tacles on buffet and cabinets. An ex

smaller ones ot similar resign which
held the pink blossoms at each ot the
four corners.
Fortunes for each guest were re
vealed when earn fished from the ses
of matrimony snd as they threw their
hooks behind a pink curtain they
pulled up a gill letter which gave the
Initials ot their future husband's
name. Since the honoree'i fortune Is j
already told she was asked to pull a
pink ribbon which on doing ao opened
the curtains and behold a ship of
matrimony was filled to overflowing
with dainty lingerie for the sweet
honoree of the hour and her real ap-
preciation and gratitude was evident.
An elaborate salad course with
strawberry Ice and whipped cream was
served the color motif finding ac-

broidery Club
An afternoon of pleasant sociability
combined with Industry was enjoyed
by the members of the Embroidery
Club Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. W.
C. Davis as hostess at the handsome
home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. II.

The home embellishment was In
pink being exquisitely developed
through Bwoet peas and La France
roses which found effective cluster
ing on every side. The guests all
brought dainty articles of hand-work
and spent the hours very delightfully
In needlework and conversation.
The occasion was marked by the
graceful courtesy and warm hospital-
ity so characteristic of this popular
hostess and ner mother who ably as-
sisted her daughter. A salad course
with sandwiches olives crackers
cheese sticks and Ice tea was served
as a concluding feature to the pleas-
ant afternoon. I
Church Social
The regular monthly social held
by the ladles of the Methodist Church
met Thursday afternoon from 4 to C
with Mrs. E. W. Crenshaw. . A variety
of cut flowers were arranged ln ar-
tistic profusion throughout the recep-
tion suite and as usual the members
enjoyed a time of Industry with forms
of needlework the occasion 'being en
livened with many well rendered
piano numbers Mesdames J. W. Mar-
tin I. P. Thomas R. O. Allen Alt
Patterson C. T. Tally C. I.. Eden
were the assisting hostesses and they
added much to the enjoyment of tho
afternoon.
Delicious strawberry cream and
angel food cake were served tho
guests after which they departed as-
suring the hostesses that they had af
forded them an afternoon of Ideal en-
joyment. A Surprise Party-
Friday evening the members of the
senior class of the lilsh school gave
Miss Myrtle and Mr. Louis McCul-
lough a surprise party. The seniors
assembled at the home of Miss
Frances Mike and then made their
way to tho McCullough home whero
the remainder of the evening was ds-
