□ The News is in favor of,a city
ordinance against stock running
at large, and its strict enforce-
ment. At one time last week
we noticed eighteen head of cat-
tle and two horses in one bunch
in the corporate limits.
The News acknowledges an
invitation to attend the First
Annual Encampment of the Bap-
tistSunday School and Young
People's Convention of North
East Texas, to be held at Dell-
wood Park, Mt. Pleasant, June
16-21. They have an ideal place
for such a gathering and expect
a great time. A fine program
has been arranged.
In
Memory of Little
Porter
Vera
At 6:30 o'clock, Thursday ev-
ening June 4, the Death Angel
visited the home of Mr. and Mr..
R. O. Porter and carried their
little daughter to dwell with
Christ at home. She was strick-
en about 5 o'clock Thursday
morning with congestion. All
that loving hands could do was
of no avail and at 6:30 p. m ,
the Anget of the Lord came
down and*bade her come home.
She suffered 13£ hours of pain
that cannot be expressed. She
was loved beyond measure by
those who knew her and was a
spark of light in the home of the
bereaved parents.
She could talk distinctly when
only eleven months old. God
spared her two years, four
months and eleven days to be
enjoyed by her parents and rel-
atives. Her ways were not as
an infant or child but asacultur-
ed and matured mind. Her lit-
tle clattering tongue and pat-
teiingfeet will be missed by her
father and mother and relatives.
May the grace of our Lord bo
poured into the hearts of those
that are left to mourn their loss.
May they be comforted and con-
soled and lay up treasures in
Heaven where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt nor thieves do
! not break in and steal.
The deceased was laid to rest
in the Pleasant Hope cemetery,
Friday, at 6:30 p. in. Juno 5.
Services were conducted by Rev.
Williams, who spoke many com-
forting words to the bereaved.
After paying the last tribute of
respect to the little darling, all
departed with sad and grieved
hearts.
W ritten by its bereaved uncle
Edward Wiggins.

Dr. Miles' Anti-Pain
•Pills' relieve pain—not
only once, but as many
times as it is nepessary to
take them. \ Many persons
who suffer from chronic
ailments find in them a
source of great relief from
the suffering which they
would otherwise be com-
pelled to endure. Their
soothing influence upon
the nerves strengthen
rather than weaken them.
For this reason they sel-
jdom lose their effective-
ness.
"I am 62 years old and hale suffered
for 42 years from nervous troubles,
rheumatism and neuralgia, palpitation
of the henrt, shortness of breath.
Sleeplessness, and pain around the
heart. The Dr. Miles Anti-Pain Pills
have been a blessing to me. I don't
know what I should do without them,
and -they are the only remedy I havfe
ever used that either did not wear
out in less time than I hare been us-
ing them, or else the Injurious results
were such that I would be obliged to
cease their use." .
