The old Jefferson Davis man-

confederate relics. Within a few
days the opening reception will
begin and Mrs. Davis and her
daughter Miss Winnie Davis will
grace the occasion. Many distin-

The house was known during
the war as the ''White House of
the Confederacy." It was bought
by the city for 843000 and was
offered to Mr. Davis as a gift. He
declined to accept it as a gift but
consented to make it his residence ;
