Mrs. John Paul Vissering of Naples, left, and Mrs. Gene Ad-
cock of Daingerfield were two of the three delegates repre-
senting Morris county at the Texas Home Demonstration
Convention in San Antonio Sept. 18-19. The two gave a re-
port of the convention at a covered dish luncheon in the
Daingerfield community center Oct. 2 for all home demon-
stration club members. The other delegate was Mrs. Mor-
ris Wallace of Daingerfield.

there is greater interest in
activities of the church. A
choir has been organized, and
each Wednesday evening at
6:30 p.m., a choir rehearsal
will be held at the Methodist
Church. Won't you come out
and join the group?
Mrs. Gertie Lester of Ft.
Worth and Mrs. Leona May of
Hughes Springs visited Thurs-
day night with Mr. and Mrs.
E. B. Cornett.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hamp-
ton of Commerce visited with
Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Hampton
over the week end.
Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Bobo, and
Mrs. Minnie Hampton and
Mary Catherine fished last
Monday at Thomas Lake. Their
best luck was at Bear Creek
when they returned. They
caught bream, catfish and
bass.
Chad and Thad Betts spent
Friday night with Luane Left-
witi. at Hughes Springs.
Miss Jo Anne Harrell left
Monday for Dallas by bus to
seek employment. She gradu-
ated from Hughes Springs
high school, and will be living
with her aunt, Mrs. Eva Tray-
lor.

Eighth grades
go to State Fair
The two eighth grade classes
of Pewitt school went to the
State Fair of Texas at Dallas
Saturday for their annual
class trip.
They visited the many ex-
hibits at the fair, including
the 1964 automobile exhibits,
the World exhibits, and the
Women's building.
Many of them also attended
the horse show and the Ice
Capades.

Local entries win in garden show
By Mrs. Oscar Parker
Mrs. Lee Ansley, who lives
at Rocky Branch and is a
member of the Daingerfield
Garden Club, won the blue
ribbon and tri-color award
over five of the seven artistic
divisions with her interpreta-
tion of "All Roads Lead to the
Fair."
Mrs. Ralph Rhyne also won
a blue ribbon with her ar-
rangement of ' Autumn Brilli-
ance."
The WMA of the Rocky
Branch Baptist Church met at
the church Monday afternoon.
Seven women and the pastor
were present. The meeting
was opened by singing the
theme song, "Follow On", and
Mrs. Lee voiced the opening
prayer. The devotional was by
Mrs. Lucille Campbell on "Self
Examination". Minutes to the
weekly and also the district
meeting were read by Mrs. 01-
lie D. Parker. Bro. Lee taught
the lesson from John 15:1-11.
Mrs. Geneva Minor led the
closing prayer.
