Omaha Woman Dies
After Long Illness
Mrs. Vella Beasley, 76 years old,
of Omaha, died here last Friday
after a long illness.
The funeral service was held at
2 p.m. Sunday at the First Bap-
tist Church at Omaha with the
Rev. E. L. Vance officiating. Bur-
ial was in the Omaha cemetery un-
der the direction of the Hanner
Funeral home.
Mrs. Beasley was born in Ar-
kansas on Dec. 20, 1879.
Survivors include two sisters,
Mrs. Nannie Farrier of Omaha,
and Mrs. Olie Johns of Bixby,
Okla.; one brother, J. E. Parham
of Omaha; and several nephews
and nieces.
Pallbearers were F. D. Cole-
man, Aubrey Welsh, Morris Mel-
ton, Bee Settles, Arthur Morris,
David Giles, Guy Davis, Albert
Liles and J. R. Robinson.

FIRE DESTROYS HOME
OF PAUL PEWITT
Fire destroyed the home of Paul
H. Pewitt north of Omaha on high-
way 26 early last Friday morning.
The Naples Volunteer Fire De-
partment received a call about
4:15 a. m Friday but the fire
was too far gone before the fire-
men arrived.
The house, an automobile and
all of the furnishings were lost
in the fire.
