Mrs- JV R. Stonp President of the
City Federation and her committee on
the istreet bair are marang extensive
plans for the event which- will toko
place on .Armistice aiternooa anu

success' is assured. The Fair will be
along Anderson street from the First
Presbyterian church to the Southern
Hotel. Booths will be 'installed for the
uittractions which will vary in nature.
Various federated organizations have
arranged for candy and pl& booths andi
a Japanese booth will be in charge of
the Aid Society of the Austin Avenue
Presbyterian church which is also
federated. Numbers of other organi-
zation? have expressed their intention
of cooperating with the Federation.
The purpose of the enterprise is to
make money with which to have rhe
Carnegie library remodeled and ar
ranged as a first class up to date li
brary building. This work is being
fostered by the Federation and with
the encouragement assistance and
cooperation of the people of Brown-
wood this undertaking which will ben-
efit every citizen in Brown county
will be a reality within a short time.

exceptional merit and highly appreci-
ated encoret; being given in the dif

R. R. Rives of the. Austin Avenue
Prcsbyterinu churoh delivered tho in-
vocation. Taken as a whole the meeting was
Splendid In all respects and is an
omen of what may be expected of-the
many meetings on the program of this
organization during the next few
months ft should be said in strict
justice that the entire function was
handled by Mr. Barlow amd Mr.
Welch of the Southern Hotel- dining
room and their able corps of assist-
ants in a masterly and most satis-
factory way.

Sheriff Pugh Reported
As Being Still Better;
Version of Fall Given
Sheriff Pugh was resting very well
this afternoon a report from tho sur-
gical institution where he is being
treated said and it was also added
that his condition is much improved.
It will be one week tomorrow since
Mr. Pugh was injured while trying to
got out of the second story of the Har-
per Hotel which was on fire. By
standtrs have since statrd that the
sheriff would have made the jump
without danger had it not been that
just aa'he cleared the window one of
