contrast to tho usual form or the
American revolutionary meddler. Dr.
Paul was intimately connected with
him for some time while living in
Bluelields and declared he never even
knew that the young man was in any
way connected with the revolutionists.
"In fact it was always my opinion
that he was a non-partisan" declared
the San Angelo physician who is also
connected with big mining enterprises
in .N'icaraugua. . "However he is a
young man with lots of fire and quite
likely became involved in a spirit of i
adventure.
'"It was just in line with the young
man's love of adventure to become j
involved in the hazardous attempt to J
trap the government's army into the
mines which it is alleged that he set.
"However be that as it may Pit-
ham should not die at the hands of
the Nirarauguans. I am . certain
the authorities at Washington will
take some action to prevent the ex-
ecution. "Young Pitham is a tine example
physically of American manhood.
Broad shouldered handsome ath- :
le-Ue. and full of tire. h Is the type '
of man that America is proud of and '
it turns me sick to think of him dying
at the hands of the .N'icarauguans. He j
lived at Cambridge .Massachusetts."
