Thrifty Union No . 2031 hav-

following resolutions:
Resolved First The Farmers
of this country are and of right

peculiar nations without inter-
ventions from foreign sources

Second To the merchants

either by word or deeds we ex-
tend our gracious thanks and
lasting appreciation: we know
them and will remember. See!

whose only benefit to the world
is the fertilizer they produce

to percolate so much energy and

disdain disregards and every-
thing not especially reserved for
the "Devil" when he comes
after this particular class of gar-
bage. See! we've got 'em spot-

praise our present Governor and
efficient representatives for their
special efforts in annihilating so
many beasts of prey so now we
have to attend a zoo to watch
the antics of locoed bulls and
demented bears.
Fifth We intend to use our
influence as a union both county
state and national with our
legislature to have laws passed
looking to the compulsory educa-
tion of all eligible children be-
tween the age of seven and
eighteen years of age so that
greed and avarice will have no
excuse for working them in
cotton patches.
Sixth We intend to hold the
biggest part of our little cotton
crops until we get good and
ready to sell and a reduction of
fifty per cent in acreage for
1908; less cotton and calamity
more hogs corn and cabbage;
eternal vigilance makes men
sleepy but wiser. Though the

wool into Texas made cloth all
the money paid "out in this pro-
cess has been kept in Texas. If
one woolen factory in Tox is can
be-'made to pay others can do
likewise with equally good man-
agement and we know of no
reason why practically every
pound of Texas wool should not
be converted into the manufac-
tured product within the con-
tines of this State. This should
also be true as to cotton and we
believe the time is not far dis-
tant when Texas cotton will be
converted into cloth in cotton
mills operated in Texas. New
England has grown rich largely
because of her woolen and cotton
mills and it does seem that these
factories could be operated with
greater profit if they were locat-
ed where the raw material is
grown. Texas Trade Review.

tire spring clip of wool to the

The cloth from this wojl was)
sold to a Xew York firm and j
from a sample it shows that the j
manufactured product is equal
to any like product turned out
by any woolen mill in this coun-
try. The grower of this wool
D. B. Little received twenty-two
and one half cents per pound for
his clip which was doubtless ful-
ly as much as he could have re-
ceived for it in the Eastern mar-
ket and he saved the freight
charges to that market some-
thing over one cent per pound.
The manufacturers at Waco of !
course made a profit on the cloth
made from this wool otherwise
they would not have bought it.
The Slayden - Kersey Voolen
Mills have been in operation for
many years and their plant has
doubtless proven a profitable in-
vestment for the owners.
