Barbara Boster, director of
Economic Development for
Garland, said: "We probably
won't know for sure for three
or four months-when we know
more about the highway
timetable."
The property is owned by a
general partnership which
includes the Baldwin Com-
pany's Pete Baldwin and Buzz
Franklin.
Boster said she could not
name the nationally-known
developer, but the company is
among the leading dozen
developers planning or cur-
rently constructing malls.
Boster said the company
plans to come to the Dallas-
Fort Worth area to build four
or five malls over the next 10
years.
"This could be the first
one," she said.
Other developers have
shown interest, but this as yet
unnamed developer has met
with Garland city officials to
discuss plans.

Alice and Charles Cox, 6806 Sable Lane, took top prize in the summer contest for distinctive
yards called Boost Community Pride. Kay Snipes, left, coordinated the project for Citizens For A
Progressive Sachse, and Vicki Haseloff, Apple Nursery, presented the Coxes with a gift of a crepe
myrtle for their efforts. The Coxes' son, Charles Jr., also played a big role in the overall design and
planting of the yard, which features row after row of colorful fall blooms and copper plants. Take
your Fallfest visitors by for a glimpse. It's the house with a gazebo in the garden.
