to host political director
The next meeting of the Texas
Democratic Women of Collin County
will be held at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 27 at
Lone Star Crossing, 5800 Coit Rd. in
Piano.
Jo-Hannah Whitsett, political
director of Texas Freedom Network,
will be the guest speaker. According
to their materials, Texas Freedom
Network is a nonpartisan, grassroots
organization monitoring far-right
issues.

Congressman Johnson
to be history gala speaker
U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson
(3rd Dist.-Texas) will be the keynote
speaker for the Silver & Gold Gala

Center. The semiformal event will be
held Sept. 29 at the Piano Centre.
For the VIP Reception and Gala,
tickets are $100 each for members
and $110 each for non-members.
Gala tickets only are $65 each for
members and $75 each for non-mem-

The next general meeting of
Stonewall Democrats of Collin

the youngest man on Dr. Martin
Luther King's original staff, will
speak on the similarities between
the civil rights movement and the
struggle for lesbian and gay rights.
