live stock, or any hav, straw,
•fodder,-cotton seed or other prod-
ucts or material calculated to
carry the infection of the foot-
and-mouth disease. Violation
of the provisions of said procla
matron is made an offense and
punishable as provided by the
laws of Texss.
There are other provisions ot the
Governor's order which are not
material to Lipscomb county peo-
ple and therefore they are not
here summarized.
A letter from Mr. J. H. Avery,
of Ft. Worth, Chairman of the
Live Stock Sanitary -Commission
of (Texas, states that an order
will be out today which will per-
mit shipments of live stock, farm
products, etc., to come into Texas
irom New Mexico, Arizona and
Colorado.

Recent Quarantine Regulations
Frequent inquiries are being
made as to the scope of the. late
^Proclamation by the Governor
which seeks to protect Texas
against invasion by the dread
t-and-mouth disease prevail-
ing in other parts of the countrv.
We are pleased to give the sub-
stance of this proclamation.
"Effective on and after Febru-
ary 25th 1915, the importatien ol
any and all classes of live stock,
including cattle, horses, mules,
jacks, jennets, sheep, goats, other
runjinants, and swine, other do-
mestic animals and fowls into the
State of Texas, from any State in
the United States, District of
Columbia, Dominion of Canada,

of jveeks before proceeding on
their journey to San Francisco,
California, where the sights of
the Panama Exposition will en-
tertain then some little spell be-

ago to take in the other big show
being pulled off at the same time
They expect to be gone for a
couple of months interviewing
the scenery of the Pacific.
