Country Notes
Ray Harreil of Soutn Dakota
arrived in Follett last Friday to
visit friends and relatives.
Donna Wynn and W. C. Walker
left recently from Follett for Ca-
lifornia where they plan to stay
indefinitely. *
Mr. and Mrs. Bud French and
son of near Dumas were visiting
with relatives and friends in Fol-
lett the past weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Cross and
baby of Amarillo spent the past
weekend in Follett visiting with
relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lester McKee who was a
/patient in the Newman hospital in
Shattuck, Oklahoma the past week
or so was brought home last Thu-
rsday and at this writing is doing
nicely.
John Lee Gadberry who is sta-
tioned at Corpus Christi is in Fol-
lett visiting with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Gadberry and
while here will visit with his many
other friends.
Rev. and Mrs. Waid Griffin and
three daughters, left Wednesday
afternoon for points in Texas
where they will enjoy Thanksgiv-
ing visiting with relatives. They
will return to Follett the last of
this week.
Mrs. Josie Hennigh, Mrs. Lottie
Hagan and Mrs.'Neva Mills of La-
verne. Oklahoma, attended services
at the Methodist Church Sunday
morning. They were dinner guests
in the home of Mrs. Etna Russell.
Mrs. B. Kelley was also a guest.

Miss Coeta Russell, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jra Russell was re-
cently awarded a Stewart-Warner
console television set by guessing
the exact amount of pounds in a

Lloyd Harrelson of this city left
ifor ElDorado, Kansas, this Wed-
nesday afternoon where he will
Join his wife and little daughter,
Trudy Faye, who have spent the
past week with Mrs. Harrelson's
parents, Mr. and. Mrs. Alex G. La-
ubhan of ElDorado. Following the
Thanksgiving holidays this week-
end they will return to Follett
A group of friends wbnt to the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bruce
last Friday night to help Mis.
Bruce celebrate her birthday. The
evening was spent in visiting. Ice
cream and cake was served to all
present. All departed for their
homes reporting a nice time and
wishing Mrs. Bruce many more
happy birthdays.
Ernest Dee, the five year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Harr-
is who live north of town had an
appendicetomy in the Newman
hospital in Shattuck, Oklahoma
last Saturday afternoon. At this
writing Ernest Dee was reported to
be doing nicely. The Times joins
Others in wishing him a speedy re-
covery.
After Bible Study at the Meth-
odist Church last Wednesday ni-
ght the group all went to the
Etna Russell home and gave her a
surprise on her birthday. She
received a number of gifts. The
evening was spent in visiting. Re-
freshments of apples, cake, coffeE
and candy was served to all pres-
ent. At- a late hour all departed
for their homes after wishing Mrs.
Russell many more "hapjjy bir-
thdays."
The Joe Ives family left late We-
dnesday for Enid, Oklahoma,
where plans have been made for a
big Thanksgiving feast, at the
home of one of their'boys there.
"Chuck" Ives after serving his time
in the Navy, has re-enlisted in
the service. Therefore the Than-
ksgiving dinner and the Ives get-
to-gather will be honoring their
son, ."Chuck" Ives with a fare-
well party as well, for returning
back into the service of his coun-
try.
Back On The Job
We are glad to see that J. B.
Reld who has Just recently been
a patient in the Shattuck hospital
is again his old nalt once again. He
tells us he really appreciated all
his

odist Church here last Sunday

the sermon. Folks from Darrouzett
were also here to attend the ser-
vice. Dr. J. Edmond Kirby, the Di-
strict Superintendent was present.
Sunday School followed the ser-
mon. You are invited to attend the
services of the Methodist Church.
Wet or dry, we all have to drink
something or other.

The regular meeting of the Ea-
stern Star was held in the Mas-
onic Hall here Tuesday night at
7:30 P. M. The secretary, Alice
Anne Trenfleld read several com-
munications. The Worthy Matron,
Mary Laubhan and the Associate
Matron, Orpha Ivie told of some
of the highlights of Grand Chap-
ter which was held in San An-
tonio. Chapter closed in regular
lorm. The next regular meeting of
the Eastern Star will be held on
Tuesday night, December 4th. All
officers and members are urged to
attend as many meeting as possi-
ble.
More than five hundred folks
were in Follett last Friday morn-
ing, to attend the dedication ser
vice of more than another car of
maize that had been given tc
CROP, for the folks of South Kor-
ea from these fine people of Lips-
comb county. Both state and reg-
ional CROP directors were present
at the program. Gus Birdwell of
Pe: ryton and several other Perry-
ton folks were present besides
Harold Hudson photographer for
the Ochiltree County Herald, who
took the picture of the car of
maize that was printed on the
front page of the Times this week.
