I: Now sure thing, Lime Light
(1ms been remembered by many
4f its rural friends this season in
a" watermelon way but it sure
enough took W. E. Gadberry
living south of here to bring in j

the largest melon that we have
seen this season and it was just
as sweet and immense as it was
terge. We offer up a word ' of
thank for the surprise.
Some people spend a lot of
time in bemoaning their fate and
dftmning their luck. The same
amount of time and energy, if
spent in some useful pursuit or in
endeavoring to locate a profitable
occupation, would preclude the
possibility of even thinking of
k or fate. Think of the bright
side of life - or don't think.
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Griffith and
ter, Belva, accompanied by
Katie Riffle, returned R>me
from Canyon, Texas, Sunday
afternoon. Miss Katie who has
been there for some little time
summer school while A.
spent a few
days visiting friends in the col-
lege town;
will without, doubt, be much btt-;j r
ter than last, year and last year
was an excellent one. The peo-
le are coming in every day from
the surrounding country looking
for houses or rooms to rent and
the question that is now agitating
the minds of the busy heads of
the town, "will everyone be
neatly housed" when the school
bell sounds for the first time this
term.
Mr. R. N. Coleman, of the
White House Lumber Company
left Saturday evening for Shat-
tuck, Okla., to see his wife and
little daughter, "Miss Bettie"
who arrived on August the 25th.
Mrs. Coleman is staying at the
home of Bobs brother and wife,
Mr. and ; Mrs. Lee Coleman.
Bob is. all "sunshine and smiles"
since the little one made its ap-
pearance. It is to be hoped their
home will always be full of
"sunshine", it is reported that
Mrs. Coleman and little one are
getting along fine.
Once there' was a time when
brotherly love was known, when
■ '
a spirit of fairness was in evi
dence, when a willingness to live
and let live prevailed. But that
we are glad to see 'em

Any old way you put forever of the past. We dream,
of the days that were, but make
n$ effort to restore them to the
time that is. We pity the
ients because of the many
things that they did not possess,
and the Lord judges us because
of; the many things that we
reject, It is life, as we make It,
and forj#bich we must pay.
