Commissioner, of Precinct No. 3
of Lipscomb County. Subject to
the will of the voters at the El-
ection in November.

Meeting Well Attended
The special called meeting of
the Tex is Agricultural Association
In the Darrouzett community last
Saturday night was well atbend-
ed by farmers of that community,
also several men from the Locust
Grove community and Mr. Blau
from the Booker community.
Some interesting talks were
given on the following topics,
Mr. Condo—Locust Grove.
Report nn Farmers Convention
held at Ft. Worth also an explan-
ation of what the Texas Agricul-
tural stands for.
Mr. Ward—Locust Grove.
Necessity of having more local
Agricultural Associations.
Mr. Peterson—Locust Grove.
How to build up the member-
ship of your local Association.
Mr. Blau—Booker.
General discussion on things to
be gained through organization
placing special emphasis on the
fact that our Legislators In Aus-
tin and Washington must know
what we need, and want to intell-
igently enact them.
Immediately following these
talks officers for the year were
ejected and a time set for our re-
gular meeting night.
The meeting was then aimed
over to Mr. Goule who '.vlth the
assistance of Mr. Blau brought
to our attention a few points in
the now pending Farm BUI and
how they might affect us after
which the meeting was dismissed.
Next meeting January, 27th,
7:30 P. M.

Darrouzett, Texas, Jan. 17th.
Mrs. 1. M. Roper was hostess
to the Child Study Club, Wednes-
day afternoon. Songs were sung
by, the group and Mesdames Rod-
ney and Lee Carter sang a duet.
Mrs. Balch discussed, "Anger In
Young Children," followed by a
round table discussion. Mesdames
Deane, Erts, and Carson Altmiller
were appointed to serve on a
piano committee. The hostess
served refreshments to ten mem-
bers Mrs. Emma Lash and Mrs.
Margie Balch and little son were
guests.
Mrs. Carl Bellah has been on
uie sick list the past week.
Mrs. L. D. Shryock and dau-
ghter Birdina, have been ill with
fconsilitis for several days.
Mrs. Henry Altmiller has been
.suffering from an attack of sin-
Ms trouble for several weeks.
The boys and girls basket ball
I earns played at Higgins Thursday
night. The girls were defeated
but the boys team was victorious.
Rev. M. O. Childress of FolL-tt
tilled the pulpit An the M. E.
church here Sun'day morning,
while Rev. Weaver preached In
Follett.
Guests in the J. H. Carter
home on Sunday were: Rev. and
Mrs. Childress and sons of Fol-
lett, H. P. Ogden of Laverne,
Okla. and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Car-
ter.
The Junior Girls and Boys Sun-
day School Class and their tea-
cher, Miss Anita Goodrich were
present at a party Thursday nite;
in the A H. Montgomery home.
After various games and contests
were enjoyed, the losing side In
the attendance contest, served
refreshments to the group. Six-
teen girls and boys attended.

We are glad to have our Sunday
School attendance up some. We
are anxious that more of our
people come for Sunday school.
Our Men's Bible class is getting
on Its feet again. We still need
more men. We invite you to be
present next Sunday.
The Young People's Class had a
fine attendance last Sunday. We
are glad to see this class increase
in number.
The Lipscomb County Young
People's Rally was held at the
Follett Methodist Church last
Thursday evening. 85 or more
young people were present at this
meeting. The program consisted j
of a Devotional period, Recrea-j
tion and refreshments. Every one,
felt that it wis a very profitable j
occasion. The next meeting will;
be at View Point the second I
Thursday in February.
Our local leagues are doing
nicely. We have Adults, Seniors,
Intermediates and Juniors. Find
your place and be in one of these
leagues.
Come and worship with us Sun-
day. A hearty welcome to all.

Home Progress Club
The Home Progress Federated
Club met with Mrs. beola Travis
Tuesday Jtan. 18th, with all mem-
bers present but one. The subject
for the afternoon was Family Fin-
ance. Mrs. Lena Glasgow very
ably discussed "Financial Know-
ledge every family should have."
An interesting paper on Amer-
ica's Outstanding Apostle of
Tbrlft. Benjamin Franklin, was
read by Mrs. Flskin, Roll call
was answered by giving, 'My
Favorite Economy, Stunt." En-
tertainment was furnished by
Mrs. Mildred Haralson. We were
happy to have Mrs. Gex and Mrs.

Logan, Oklahoma, Jan. 17th,
This community was saddened
to learn of the death of Grandpa
Jerry DeLay, a former resident of
Beaver County who passed away
at the home of his son, Ray De-
Lay of Southern, Texas.
Ira Ford Is the owner of a new
V 8.
A party was given at the Mes-
sner home Tuesday evening.
Coy Trout and wife made a trip
to Beaver, Oklahoma, recently.
Mrs. Chris Howard, taken sud-
denly ill and was taken to the
Beaver Hospital.
Mrs. Carmlchael and Beryl Jett
have returned from a trip to Ok-
lahoma City, Okla.
Bruce Welser of near Clearlake,
Okla., was a caller in the Wind-
sor district Thursday.
Fred Smith, Mort Mansfield and
J. C. Cates, were callers near the
Golden district Sunday evening.
Miss Opal Shaffer has returned
to Oklahoma City, Okla., where
she is taking a business course.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cates, have
moved on what is known as the
Mansfield farm north of Logan.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Benner
were calling on friends In the
Windsor district Thursday after-
noon.

and son of Follett accompanied
by a Mler boy were visiting fri-
ends in the Logan vicinity Sunday
afternoon, Jan. 9th.

lett, Texas Were visitors in the
Windsor district Wednesday ev-

R. G. Brannen and Mr. Powell

were served by the Women's Miss-
ionary Society.
Follett Baptist W. M. S. To Meet
A missionary program taken
from the January Royal Service
will be rendered at the home of
Mrs. Edd Clark on Thursday Jan.
20 at the 2:30 P. M. Please at-
tend this meeting and learn more
about people who give all of their
time, money and lives for Christ.
