Patricia Jean Smith of Lips-
comb is visiting this week in the
home of Mrs. Jim Wright and

was in Follett Wednesday after-
noon greeting friends and doing
a little lectioneering on the side.

Hundreds of loads of wheat are
being delivered at the elevators
each day.
Mr. John Olson of Galesburg,
111. is looking after his farm in-
terest here.
Mr. and Mrs. Finley Allen and
son of Borger are helping Carson
Altmiller in harvest.
Dorothea Roberts of Booker vis-
ited with friends here Wednesday
while Mrs. Roberts gave music
lessons.
Mrs. Lloyd Hennigh and son
Keith of Las Vegas, New Mexico
are assisting Fred Hennigh in
harvest.

Mlrs. Dave Sparks and little
daughter of Seminole, are visiting
her mother, Mrs. Pugh and other
relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Weber,
tfcrmer residents here, who now
live at Gruver, announce the'
birth of a daughter, on June 18
at Beaver, Okla. Hospital.
A dozen cars filled with Boost-
ers from Canadian visited our
town Thursday afternon, adver-
tising the «,Rodeo which will be
held on the Fourth. The visitors
entertained with band music.
Mr. and Mrs. A H. Montgo-
mery, Mr. and Mrs J. H. Carter
and Mr. and Mrs. Lre Carter,
were visitors Sunday afternoon In
the home of Mrs. Mary Roach,
north of Follett. Mrs. Roach and
daughter Dorothea and Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Roach and children
have recently returned from Cal-
ifornia. Other visitors were Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Roach and daugh-
ter, of Catesby, Mr. and Mrs. C.
L. Worrell and son of Follett and
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Roach and
family.
Honoring their son, Charles
Ray, on his eleventh birthday,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Altmiller en-
tertained a group of boys and
girls at dinner Sunday. Games
were enjoyed during the after-
noon. Those enjoyinf. the occas-
ion were: Wanda Lash, Betty
Terrel, Alfred Altmiller, LaVaugh,
Lela Beth and Mildred McVicker,
Ronald McCartor, Wendell Alt-
miller, Bessie Fausset. Pauline
Montgomery, Deloris Powell, Ella
Mae Frass, Jean Weaver, Lynn
Roper, Harry Hennigh, Buford
Shryock, Faye and Jaunita Robb-
ing.
Paul Blumer of Shattuck, Okla-
homa was in Follett visiting in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willis
Crump and baby Sunday for a
short time. Paul is a brother of
Mrs. Willis Crump. Welcome to
our city and come again.
Mr. and Mrs. Brice Jackson
and son, John are enjoying a visit
with his father, John H. Jackson,
Murrayville, Illinois, and Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Irlam and daugh-
ters, Marjorie and Lucille of
Woodson, Illinois. Mrs. Iram is a
sister of Mr. Jackson.
Lawrence Terrel, son of Mrs.
Frank Terrel of northwest of here
who was in the hospital at Shat-
tuck, Oklahoma during the past
week where he was taken after
he had an attack of appendicitis
one day last week, returned to his
home here Sunday. We trust the
young man will be "fit as a fid-
dle" before many days now.
Everyone isn't in the harvest
fields and it does look like some-
one would wade in and knock
down and drag away some of
these weeds. Why folks its getting
real bad. Take a look at the City
Hall for Instance, the one place in
FOLLETT that should have a
well kept lawn -with flowers and
trees, etc. Why Its nearly hidden
by the weeds. Lets everyone do a
little extra on the outside, work

Terrible Accident

Aubrey Yates, age 33, an Okla-
homa State Highway employe
was burned to death about 3:00
o'clock last Friday afternoon.
Yates had been cleaning up the
motor on the State Highway
maintainor at his home about 1
1-2 miles east of Slapout, Okla-
homa. His wife and children were
shopping at Laverne. Oklahoma.
In the shed where the work was
being done several oarrels of gas
and distillate were stored we are
told. Oily Oneal who was on his
way to Laverne, was among the
