"MORAN AMITY CLUB
- The Amity Club met in the
fellowship hall of the Meth-
odist Church on Tuesday,
April 28, with Mmes. R.W.
Brooks and Pearl Roach as
hostesses. The president,
Mrs. Ralph Snyder, called
the meeting to order. The
club voted to contribute $10
to the Better School Organi-
zation for the landscaping of
the new elementary school.
Mrs. C.S. Barrow reported
that club members have do-
nated three books for the
county library and five books
for the school library. Mr.
Ralph Snyder was leader on
the program on "Youth Con-
servation'. Glen Ellison, agri-
culture teacher, and several
of the FFA members brought
a program on parliamentary
procedure, which was infor-
mative as well as enjoyable.
The hostesses served de-
licious refreshments from a
table laid with a white linen
and lace cloth, centered with
a bowl of roses. Mrs. Ralph
Snyder ladled punch and
Mrs. Floyd Pool served the
cake. Guests present were
Glenn Ellison, Bob Bouldin,
Jackie Dennis and Carl Wi-
loth. Members present were
Mmes. C.S. Barrow, Lucion
Brooks, Richard Dresser,
Bertram A. Elliott, Warlick
G. Jones, Floyd Pool, Bill
Read, Pearl Roach, Gar-
land Shelton, Morris Sny-
der, Ralph Snyder, J.M.
Townsend, Lynn Williams,
Wiley Williams, Fred Wylie,
R.A. Elliott and Oscar Wise.
JUNIOR-SENIOR BAN-
QUET HELD FRIDAY
NIGHT - The junior class
of Moran High School hon-
ored the senior class with a
banquet at the high school
Friday night, May 1. Theme
of the banquet was 'Oriental
Garden'. Master of ceremo-
nies was Burrell McKelvain.
Barney Tabor read the class
prophesy and Betty Thomas
gave the class will. Ray Judis
played dinner music while
the meal was served by the
freshmen and sophomore
girls. G.B. Lane, Glenn and
Douglas Branch and Field-
ing Winchester sang a med-
ley of songs, accompanied by
Mary Chism. They are all
from Albany. A.J. Hill was
guest speaker. The junior
class mothers prepared the
meal.
FHAMEETING - The Mo-
ran Chapter of F.H.A. held
their regular night meeting
Tuesday, May 5. The girls de-
cided to have a slumber party
at Lake Cisco Friday night,
May 22, for their annual
summer outing. Mothers of
the girls will be invited over
Saturday at 4:30 p.m. for an
ice cream supper. Officers for
the next year were elected.

VOLLEYBALL GAMES
- The boys' and girls' volley-
ball teams took part in the
district volleyball tourna-
ment at Eula April 20. The
boys played Eula, Scranton
and Putnam two games each
and won all the games. The
boys won first place and Put-
nam won second. Leslie Tonn
is the boys' coach.
The girls played Eula and
Baird two games each, and
lost all games. Mrs. Bobby
Moore is the coach. Members
of the girls' team are Jan
Harber, Gail Davis, Shirley
Thomason, Brenda Midkiff,
Glenda Reynolds, Sandy
Huskey, Gailon Wagley, Eli-
cia Crews and Theresa Noles.
Members of the boys' team
are Barney Tabor, Glenn
Breeden, Burrell McKelvain,
Dale Thomason, Houston
Connally, James Tabor and
James Shelton.
STAGE BAND - The Cis-
co High School stage band,
under the direction of Byron
Gray, will bring the program
for the Moran Luncheon
Club on Wednesday, May 13.
Everyone is invited to come
to the Luncheon Club.

dren who will be six years of
age before September 1 are
invited to attend."

Students from the sixth grade through senior class trav-
eled to Arlington earlier this week to take in a Texas
Rangers game. The field trip is one of several being tak-
en during the last weeks of the 2007-2008 school year.
In addition, there is a school holiday this Friday, May 16
because of an unused bad weather day.

May 19 - 23
Monday - frito pie, Mexican
rice, pinto beans, salad, pud-
ding
Tuesday - golden fish strips,
macaroni & cheese, tossed sal-
ad, hot roll, fresh fruit
Wednesday - spaghetti,
bread sticks, tossed salad,
green beans, pineapple
Thursday - chicken nuggets,
mashed potatoes, gravy, peas,
hot roll, peaches
Friday - hamburger, cheese,
lettuce, tomato, baked chips,
pickles, shapeups
The Moran sixth through
12th grade classes attended
a Texas Rangers baseball
game on Monday, May 12.
The local group was among
the first fans to arrive at The
Ballpark in Arlington, and
got to watch batting prac-
tice, during which several
students caught balls.
Additional field trips are
taking place during the next
two weeks for the elemen-
tary grades.
All students and staff
members will get a holiday
this Friday, May 16. It was
originally designated as a
"bad weather day," but was
not needed during the school
year.
