■emoriea of—"the accident"
Our chief concern is with the high

ago, motit of thia group first passed
their driver license eiama with fly-
ing color*. During the graduation fes-
tivities, I>ad probably permits the
"unlimited" use of the family car for
the first time. Because of the nature
of the occasion, few restrictions are
imposed.
In well adjusted families, lengthy
ditfCUMsion ban preceded this event, for
Dad and Mother realize that "com-
mencement" means many changes in
-heir family.
One typical son, now past 17, mny
not wish to enter college for one of
many possible reasons. Another lad,
in the same age group,' has no doubt
already had his college entrance ap-
proved. As tha two boys now pursue
their separate careers, different ex-
periences await them.
Tha chances of involvement in A
traffic accident ure greater for the
non-college youngster. Why? For iev-
eral reasons:
in the first place, he will no doubt
obtain a job and start receiving an
income. Ity placing himself on the
labor market for fnlltiine work betakes
a a new independence not gained by
the college boy. Unlike the lad who
chooses to go on to college, the young
forking man is now able to dictate his
awn hours and "live his own Ma"—
tiaee ha ia "earning his own living.
