Ex-Senator Jos. W. Bailey
took issue with hi* fellow coun-
sel in a lawsuit in progress in
Fort Worth, when the latter
stated that Senator Bailey prob-
ably had more enemies than any
man in Texas. Mr. Bailey inter-
rupted to say, not "more" bnt
"meaner." As a matter of fact,
Mr. Bailey hasn't so many ene-
mies t this personal sense. It is
just that a majority of Texas
people, though recognizing his
abihty and that he has many
good qualities, do not agree with
him, politically or subscribe to
his idea of what constitutes pub-
lic service.
