Stores To Close
On July Fourth
Next Monday is the "Glor-
ous Fourth," and will be ob-
served as a full holiday by
most of Mesquite business es-
tablishments. The grocery
stores and markets will close
at 10 o'clock for the remain-
der of the day, the drug stores
and restaurants may remain
oj»en but the rest of the stores
will remain closed all day.
Stolen Car Was
Found Wednesday
A Chevrolet touring car be-
longing to C. R. l,curey, which
he had left on the lawn of his
home, the George Utz resi-
dence, at the corner of Main
and Walker streets, was stolen
sometime Monday night, after
Mr. I/Jwrey and family bad re-
tired for the night-
The car was found Wedne-
day mornktg by City Marsh;,'
C. G. Parker. It had been aban-
doned on a road leading from
the Scyene paved highway,
north past the S. B. Marshal!
home.
P.efore abandoning the car,
thieves stripped it completely
of tires and tools.

failed to recognize the place.

8aptist Revival
We have just closed a very
successful meeting and feel
that the church is in better
working condition than be-
fore the meeting. The spirit of
the meeting was fine all the
way through and we appre-
ciate the splendid co-operation
given by all who had any part
in making the meeting a suc-
cess.
There were twenty-six
'litions to the church. A»
close of the meeting a nice of-
fering was given for our
church addition.
Our Sunday school broke
her past attendance record
having reached 203. When th.j
weather is favorable there is
no reason why we should not
have "round this number ev-
ery Sunday. If the people of
Mesquite and community
would attend church as they
should, all the churches in
town would be filled eacii

efforts of the singers and mu-
sicians during our meeting.

Party Wednesday
The Fidelis class of the Bap-
tist church were entertained
Wednesday afternoon by Mrs.
Docia Copeland and Mrs.
Franzle Lewis at the home of
Mrs. Copeland.
After a short business sc.--ion
the meeting w.i* turned over to
the hostesses for the social
hour Various games and con-
tests were enjoyed by those
present, one o' which was the
paper bay relay in which Mrs.
Wilkinson's group won over
Mrs. H. L. Cullom.
In another relay tw° hoop-
were suspended in the door-
way and with Mrs. Wilkinson
a !<l Mrs. Jewel Tosch as group
captains, a lively race was on
to fan t!u baloon through the
hoops in a given time- Mrs.
Wilkinson's group won in this

We hope to be able to move from the L. C. Stewart
building, on the west side, to our new location, on
the north side- recently vacated by The Mesquite
Grocery, in time to be there Saturday.
All our equipment is new and first class and we are
going to be better prepared than ever to give our
customers real service. ' •
