Structure Planned By Church Of Christ
Work To Start Soon
On Building In WUP;
To Cost Over $50,000
The West University Church of
Christ is planning to construct a
church building and Sunday School
rooms at the corner of Bissonnet
and Westchester with work sched-
uled to start within three or four
months, according to C. K. Money,
chairman of the building commit-
tee. The City Council of West Uni-
versity Place recently passed an
ordinance removing the zoning re-
strictions.
The auditorium of the church will
seat 300 persons and will be air
conditioned. The building, planned
by Del win James, is of colonial de-

Seven Committees
J. B. Dannenbaum, consulting en-
gineer, discussed engineering prob-
lems which the city of Bellaire faces
in a talk before the Bellaire Civic
Club last week. Following the talk,
Dr. L. W. Kuebler, president, an-
nounced members of standing com-
mittees for the year. Each commit-
tee will elect its own chairman, and
the chairman will be called on for a
written report at the next meeting
of the club, June 25, the president
stated.

Mrs. Grady Smith To
Preside Sunday Over
District Legion Meet
Mrs. Grady Smith, district com-
mitteewoman, of 4235 Coleridge
will preside over the sessions of the
convention of the Eighth District of
the Legion Auxiliary Sunday after-
noon. There will be a joint meeting
of the Legion and Auxiliary start-
ing at 1:30, followed by separate
gatherings at 3 o'clock. The meet-
ings will be held at the Legion Post
301 hall at 1010 Chenevert. Officers
will be elected by both groups.
A dance will be held Saturday
night in the same hall, to which all
ex-service men and their wives are
invited, Mrs. Smith said.
