Glenn D. Detrow, 119th, would like the address of Paul R. Bentel, 119th. Anyone
knowing of the whereabouts of Paul please contact Glenn at 1565 7th Street, Cuyahoga
Falls, Ohio From Germany we have the latest news of Hellcats that were unable
to find life in the US to their liking and who had to come back in slow stages. John
Van Stirum gives us the following lowdown. Col. Wallace H. Barnes, C/S, was mar-
ried recently to a young lady from the Netherlands and is still with EUCOM. Lt.
Col. Hugh Mair, G-I, is now Mr. Mair and Military Government Officer at Mannheim;
Captain Nathaniel Barber (now Mr. Barber) is his deputy Captain Boni V.
Bloom (now Mr. Bloom) continues as Military Government officer at Bad Mergen-
theim where Boni has been since 1946 Mr. George E. Copp (formerly Lt. Copp)
is with the Industry Branch of the Military Government Maurice Wachsberger
(formerly T/Sgt) is with the Heidelberg Military Government .... M/Sgt.C.A.Curry
is planning to be separated overseas in order to accept civilian employment there.
T/Sgt. Bernard W. Daley, says he prefers the Army and is going to reenlist. (Oh?
my aching back.) Capt. John Van Stirum, our very worthy correspondent, has
also shed the O. D. to become Deputy Finance Adviser to the Military Government
in Wuerttemberg-Baden As John says, "Hellcats are well represented in key
positions throughout the US zone of occupation in Germany)* In other words,
when we make a mark, we really see that it stays S/Sgt. Nicholas V. deLorenzo,
would like to receive the Hellcat News, Nic is also in Germany and along with quite
a few of the ex-Hellcats overthere seem to have acquired writer's cramp. Thanks
a million, John, for your always welcome newsbits from the old country. We often
wonder why there are not more Hellcats from your part of the world who don't take
the pen in hand as you have so interestingly done this past year.
