The HELLCAT News
LETTER TO
THE EDITOR -
From the October issue of
HCN I gather that the Associ-
ation is not adverse to accept-
ing donations. I would like to
make the suggestion that these
donations be made in the form
of dues for former Hellcats who
are not association members.
This would build up the trea-
sury and the membership roster
at the same time with the pos-
sibility that some of the new
members would continue to pay
dues once they get the start.
I'm sure that mosit of us know
of at least one person in this
category and if we all pay the
dues for one we could conceiv-
ably double our membership in
short order. I know this might
be wishful thinking but its not
impossible. THINK IT OVER! I
might add that I started out
this project this year and I hope
to be able to continue until ev-
ery former member of my pla-
toon is a member of the associ-
ation.

a very pleasant visit while the
menfolk discussed the next re-
union, publicity, delinquent
members, new members and
the many other problems which
we face in trying to maintain
a strong and solvent organiza-

"Hi — had a phone call from
Joe Jessen, the last Sunday in
IJuly — this in itself is not un-
usual as we see each other very
often — my wife took the call
and made up siome reason we
should go over and see them—
well when we went in, there
was Johnny Bramlett (HQ/714)
— was a great surprise. We had
a real time, we went over about
the old days when we were in
the army. This is Johnny's and
his wife® second trip to the
west. I wish we could have sent
a picture of the three man re-
union, but in the confusion I
didn't have imy camera and Joe
Jessen was out olf flash bulbs.
Joe Jessen tells me he and his
wife Ann and son Donnie spent
a day with Vern Chaffens (Med/
714) in Denver, Colo, on their
way east for a vacation in
South Daktota. Thats about all
from out here."
Much of what was discussed
will be presented to the pro-
per committees toy the Presi-
dent and to the members
through his monthly messages
in the Hellcat News.
To the left we have president
Chic Williams and treasurer
John Finley in deep discusion
with John Finley Jr. getting
an earful. To the right we
have our 1st vice president Bob
Rupert and 2nd vice president
Jack Miller in a jovial mood.
That drink in Jacks hand looks
good.

"Have recently gone into busi-
ness for myself known as Wates

on my own was like shutting
my eyes and taking a leap in
the dark not knowing what the
outcome would be but with de-
termination such as we Hell-
cats had to help win the war
I felt like I could make it. My
son is following in my foot-
steps. He helps in the shop af-
ter school hours and during
the summer months.
