November. We were quite fortun-
ate around Buffalo, N.Y. that
month to be free from heavy
snowstorms and cold.
Edward Lane, Wakefield,
Michigan wrote to let you know
he and his wife have raised seven
children and all enjoy living in a
place where you ski for winter
sports and do a lot of fishing for
the summer. The champion boat
races were held there on Sunday
Lake in his vicinity. A lot of
C/119th tourists have visited in
this area.
Elmer M. Gilchrist, Lexington,
Kentucky has written telling us
he is doing fine after his surgery.
He believes the Battalion Motor
Pool had something to do with the
A-frame on a tank to put the
treads in front to bridge small
ditches. As a matter of fact, one
man was killed when the A-frame
was released on his head.

stitution had been in effect since

An explanation of the various
amendments included in the latest
revisions are:
CONSTITUTION:
Art. 1, Sections 1 & 2: Trans-
ferred the wording "which is a
non-profit membership corpora-
tion chartered in the State of
Ohio" from Section 1 NAME to
Section 2 PURPOSE. This word-
ing was not related to the name of
our association.
Art. II, Sec. 2 ASSOCIATE
MEMBERSHIP: (Changed from
SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP) New
wording clarifies the "next of kin"
and includes persons who have
demonstrated interest in the
perpetuation of the association.
Also includes a requirement for
approval of these associate mem-
berships for the protection of the
association.
Art II, Sec. 4 DUES: Same
meaning in fewer words.
Art II, Sec. 5 VOTING: This
section added to clarify voting
privileges of members.
Art. Ill, Sec. 3 QUORUM:
Amendment calls for a five man
quorum for an Executive Council
meeting, versus old wording
which considered a quorum as the
members present at a meeting.
Believe the new wording more
adequately covers the quorum
requirements to conduct an
Executive Council meeting.
Art. IV, Sec. 2 APPOINTIVE
OFFICERS: New wording includ-
es the appointment of a Chaplain,
and adds wording that the
appointed officers are responsible
to the President.
BY-LAWS:
Art. II, Sec. 2 DUES: Simpli-
fied version calls for dues pay-
ment on or before July 1 (versus
old write-up which called for dues
payment on or before August 1).
This change is made to align the
dues year with the fiscal year of
the association (refer Art. V, Sec.
2 of the constitution). Also chang-
ed the annual dues fee from $5.00
to $7.50.
Art. Ill (Heading) from MEET-
INGS AND EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL to MEETINGS: The
new heading reverts back to the
one in effect prior to our Seattle
reunion, and is more appropriate
since this article does not deal
with the functions of the Execu-
tive Council.
Art III, Sec. 1 MEETING:
Same meaning with fewer words.
Art. Ill, Sec. 2 SPECIAL
MEETINGS: Old wording was
vague and confusing. Old wording
(prior to our Seattle reunion)
empowered the Executive Council
to make the determination re-
garding a mail ballot require-
ment. The Seattle revision chang-
ed this authority to the President
of the association. Thus, the
comprise to empower either the
President or the Executive
Council.
Art. IV (Heading) from ELEC-
TIVE AND APPOINTIVE
OFFICERS to ELECTION AND
DUTIES OF OFFICERS: New
heading reverts back to the one in
effect prior to our Seattle reunion.
This article does cover the duties
of officers (refer Sec. 4) as well as
their election.
Art. IV, Sec. 1 NOMINATING
COMMITTEE: New wording is
designed to prevent the loading of
the nominating committee by any
one unit of the association. Also
restricts the appointments from
the Executive Council. Thus, it
assures the membership of proper
representation on the nominating
committee.
