President's
Report
I hope that all of you have
completed your reservations for
our 44th Reunion in Charlotte,
North Carolina. The committee
has made plans so that we all
will have a wonderful time and
will again be able to see our
comrads and friends of our
12th family. Remember, as we
get older and the time gets
shorter, we must make our
opportunities to see our friends
and remember the good times
that we have shared.
I have my reservations for
the July 10th celebration of the
50th Anniversary of Armor at
Ft. Knox and they have plan-
ned a full program for us to
enjoy. For those that can make
it, we are the representatives of
the proud 12th Armored Divis-
ion. Also this will give you a
chance to see the Memorial
Park with new concrete walks
and bases for our memorials to
our units.
I want to again remind all
members that we want your
ideas on how we should celebr-
ate our own 50th Anniversary
in 1992. Please get your ideas
to our committee chairman, Bob
Downey, Sr. so that he can
present these ideas to the Execu-
tive Council in Charlotte. We
need the input from all mem-
bers so that we all will be a
part of this anniversary. Pres-
entations will be made at Char-
lotte as to the site of the '92
anniversary reunion and we
should begin plans now on how
we celebrate this important
anniversary.
Make your plans now for
Charlotte and do not get left
out.
IT'S GREAT TO BE A HELL-

Help Wanted
From Hellkittens
Please write your story of the
years from 1942-45 and send it
to the historians. Whether you
were a school girl or a young
wife and mother, consult your
diaries, your letters, your mem-
ories, your hearts and write.
Announcements of engage-
ments and weddings in the
Hellcat News and statements
about women working on the
assembly line and acting as
Red Cross volunteers as found
in the publications of Time-Life
Books, etc. are not enough his-
tory not enough "her story".
At the Midwest Chapter meet-
ing in May and the Mid-Con-
tinent meeting in June, many
stories were shared. They were
romantic, funny, sometimes
heart-breaking, but all reflected
the struggle to survive this per-
iod of time.
Put your story down on paper
or tape. Let's record it now and
share it soon in the form of a
collected work.
