tens to enjoy dancing to make
that announcement after I left the
room and was on my way up to
my room with Doc Tiberio to get
Doc a few decals. What took place
prior to the reunion should not
have been a part of his wrong
doing and I respectfully request
the records to show (if it was
made a matter of record) that I
did not resign, but was never
appointed. That's all folks, just a
point of order.
I want to wish Norb Bruemmer
a lot of success in his new position
as Executive-Secretary-Editor.
He is a sincere and dedicated
Hellcat and will serve this Asso-
ciation well. You can help him a
lot, if you will let him know in
time when you change address
which is very important and you
will not understand this, until you
are in his position. Help him to
help you. Good luck Norb.
I met many old and many new
Hellcats. It was good to see Joe
Zumwald, whom I have not seen
for quite a spell, and to Howard
Murphy and Irene. A new name
to me was Don Seedborg, from
the 82nd Medics who sure has
done a marvelous job on the
Romantic Road. I did not get to
see Don's slides, as every time I
was headed that way I was
derailed by some Hellcat asking
me a question. But we do look at
all the post cards Don sent Inez
and I, and will not forget this
thoughtfulness.
To show you how you get
involved with your fellow Hell-
cats, Inez and I never got down to
the Ballroom on Friday night. We
went to visit an old buddy of mine
from the great Sv/714th, Kinzie
Watkins, and his better half, and
Kinzie got on the phone and called
Charley Frazier, our Battalion
Maintenance Warrent Officer, and
we never broke up the bull
session until after 12 A.M., and
we started this around 9 P.M. By
the way, Skelton was with us in
the 44th and when the breakup
came, he was in school at Ft.
Knox and was put in the 43rd
when he returned. That was our
loss in the 714th.
If you haven't got you dues paid
for '82*83, lets get with it guys.
That time of delinquency gets
here faster than you think, and
you do not want to be shut out
from the great Armored Division
Newspaper, and the only one that
goes out to its members every
month. I think while we are on
the subject of newspapers we
should give our Unit Reps a big
pat on the back for the marvelous
job they do of getting the news to
all of you. They, as well as yours
truly do not profess to be the best
journalists in the world, but we do
write as we think, which is not
the right way probably, but when
we read it over, we given our-
selves a pat on the back and say
"boy that's as good as a pro."
Right guys, and of course gals.
Never let it be said that we do not
try to report everything of im-
portance and items we think that
most members will like. Keep up
the good work guys. I enjoy
reading what you write.
The transition period does take
time, and I hope that you have
given our new Executive Secre-
tary-Editor time to get things
rolling before you get hasty and
write him "where is my member-
ship card, etc." By the time I got
all the association properly pack-
ed and the movers to come and
pick it up, it was the middle of
August before he got it, unpacked
it, and got things rolling. Inez and
I did not get home until the 20th
of July and I started getting
Use Sims and Laurine Cinocco, the talented gals
that entertained us on the Golden Rod Showboat.
Delinquent Dues 1982-1983
venience in forwarding dues pay-
ments. It is my sincere hope that
those of you that have not yet
forwarded dues, will avail your-
selves of this convenient method
of sending your check in to your
Executive Secretary. Checks
should be made payable to the
"12th Armored Division Associa-
tion."
Lets keep a viable organization
by submitting the required dues,
which are lower than other simi-
lar organizations. With the pas-
sing of time, it is of the ut-
most importance that we continue
the friendships made in years
gone by, particularly those that
affect the comrades in arms, who
shared the trials and tribulations
of that great conflict for freedom
from tyrany. Don't forget "ITS
GREAT TO BE A HELLCAT."
Norbert H. Bruemmer
Executive Secretary
Section 2 of Article II of the By-
Laws of the 12th Armored Divi-
sion Association state "Member-
ship dues shall be $7.50 per year,
payable on or before July 1 of
each year. Notice shall be given
via the Hellcat News that mem-
berships are due and payable as of
July 1. Subsequent dues notices
to all members who have not paid
their membership dues by Sep-
tember 1, shall be mailed to such
individuals by the Executive Sec-
retary. If dues are not received
within Thirty (30) days of mailing
such notice, the membership will
be terminated."
Anyone who has not submit-
ted his dues payment for the year
1982/1983 is now delinquent, and
this article serves as a notice
regarding delinquency. An enve-
lope has been included in this
issue of the Hellcat News for con-
ll
things packed on the 21st of July.
Another thing you have to try and
visualize is, Norb has to learn
these things that have to be done,
like I did on my own, as well as
George Moss did. So, be patient
and it will all come out in the
wash.
Once again, it has been great
serving you the second time
around, and I will always remem-
ber all the nice things that were
said and will take the bad things
thought about me with the same
level of thought. We enjoyed
doing this job and we will, as I
said, always remember it. Take
care, all of you, and do remember
that next year it will be the
BIGGY IN NASHVILLE. That is
the important get-together, so
start saving up the old green-
backs for it. If you have to choose
your vacation earlier than you
wanted to, remember the word
Nashville, and that should remind
you of the 37th Annual Reunion
put on by Arbuckle and Asso-
ciates, "ITS GREAT TO BE A
HELLCAT' /s/ Ken Warnes
