Tanker.
At long last I have the name of
the guy who woke us up every
morning, before the sun was even
thinking of getting up. Yes it is
"Pappy" J. E. Bennett. I have his
letter before me and in between
the lines he's THE one. "Pappy
remembers Capt. Walters and
lst/Sgt Merv Herndon. With his
bugle he made every one of us
swear that some day, somewhere
we'd find the one who made that
bugle call so early in the morning.
How about letting "Pappy" know
that we'd like to see him at one of
the gatherings of the Wolfpack.
Please bring your bugle, and we'll
bring our hammers. O.K.? All
fooling aside, all of us would enjoy
seeing you again.
Wayne and Arby Brannon, Sv,
sent a short note to let us know
that they had enjoyed their visit
with Dave and Isabel Decelle and
us. (Ethel and Ray Cartier) All
these visits are always to short.
Arby is still looking for any
volunteers for Saturday night.
Let her know is you are willing,
and able.
Ed Drennon, A, sent word that
he is still trying to get Cary
Everett to come North, along
with Frank and Betty Hacker.
How about getting a special car
on the railroad and making it an
East Coast Limited? Ed has writ-
ten that Virginia isn't up to par so
will not be making the trip with
him. Any of you fisherman who
like bass fishing, make sure you
visit Ed. He states that he is the
best in the East, and knows all
the ways to land the trophies.
Bring your reels and rods and
give him a challenge.
Carl and May Fisher, C, are
looking forward to meeting lots of
"C" Co buddines, this summer.
May writes that Carl started his
own roofing business in 1945,
incorporated in 1977 when their
two sons decided to join the force.
They helped the company diversi-
fy into siding, insulation, storm
windows, and May states that
business has been great so far this
year. She's the bookkeeper, (That
is the best job to have, May.) and
also acts as the GO FER. Their
youngest son lives in Saratoga

Springs, NY and is in the jewelry
business. Carl and May proudly
claim 5 lovely grand-daughters
and one handsome grand-son.
Now there are two very PROUD
grandparents. May has been in
contact with the Pete Gillie's from
Conn., the Robert Levine's from
Minn., and the Don Mercier's
from Wis., and wished Ethel and I
a sun shine filled summer. Thanks
- we need that for sure.
This is the time to mention that
if you have not paid your dues,
$7.50, to the 12th Armored Divis-
ion Association for the '82 - '83
season, NOW is the time to do it.
Make out your check to: 12th

frey, IL 62035.
Jim and Martine Wilson, Hq,
tells me that they were lucky to
escape the storms that plagued
their area without any damage to
their property. Jim writes that
Evansville had the worst damage
in anybody's memory. The rains
did cause them to stay out of the
fields for a few days, but nothing
serious. Jim still has some "Tank
Tracks, Tennessee to Tokyo" re-
printed booklets. Anyone inter-
ested to have a replacement for
one that was lost or to pass onto a
son, or grandson, now is the time
to get your $7.81 to James G.
Wilson, Rt. 6, Box 324, Owens-
boro, Ky 42301. That price covers
everything, booklet and mailing.
When the Wilsons write they tell
me of the projects they have in
progress. Where they ever get
the time, being a farmer is
enough. Doing all that remodeling
and building - ??
Paul and Mary Turek, Sv, have
been very faithful in keeping the
news coming to me. I owe them a
few letters in answer so will get
to all answering today. In the
meantime, Paul is looking forward
to his planned retirement. Don't
worry Paul, after a few days of
getting up early and then realiz-
ing that you don't have to, you'll
get in the swing of things in a
