A REQUEST FROM ALL
In order to give you more to do besides
the Reunion in Philly I would like a cross
section opinion if you would like to see
the following happen before the reunion
and wind up in Philly, or go after the
reunion. You name it:
Two days to Williamsburg,
Two or three days to Eastern Canada,
or Nova Scotia,
A bermuda trip, or cruise,
OR "what have you".
Give me an idea what you would like
if anything to do in conjunction with
the reunion.
Write to me: Albert Lipschultz, 152nd
803 Ellis Avenue, Newton Square, PA.
19073, and please do it today, as
tomorrow may be too late — O.K.?
REUNION
Pick up notes on the '30th annual
re-union.
A big thank you to the Association
from the two typists, Gladys Laird and
Carol Thornton, at the Registration
desk. They were overwhelmed by the
mugs as they are collectors of mugs
and cups and extremely pleased with
their assignments by the local Chamber
of Commerce who paid for their
services.
We have several thank you's from
members too numerous to list but a
special to Charlie and Marj Kotula,
Fred and Rita Caravelli, Vince and Rita
Mancinelli, and to Joe and Marge
Zumwald. (Joe, my Mother makes
those pillows. I have 2 brothers and
five sisters that supply her with the
materials to keep her hands active as
an 88 year old widow.)
The pictures of the Wreath
Placement, of the Tomb itself and of
the Civil War Regiment unit Color
Guard came out excellent and I am
having them made into 5x7 black and
whites for the Historian. There are also
pictures of Gen. Brewer and other
segments of the reunion. A single copy
of each of 30 pictures will be given to
the Historian. I will have the negatives
for future use for those that may wish
copies, probably a dollar a piece. For
those that were in the heat at the
tomb. We have had less than 9 inches
of rain since April 1st, and that in this
area that normally receives 20 inches in
that season.
The Circus Circus restaurant
continues to thank us for the 12th as
does the Food Mart liquor dealer, The
Drug Store manager would like to
know if we drank all that beer and
booze before we left town. Johnnie
McNaul and Jim Moulder bring special
mention from the Hotel for their
reception and acceptance for the unit
dinners. The VFW wants everyone to
visit anytime.
Speaking of the Hotel — sales
manager Smith was fired the week
before you came in. The 3rd manager
since November '75 stayed less than
the month of July. I had to contend
with 4 different reservations managers
in that time. The only things that were
constant were the catering managers
that 'bothered' me with the Artillery
booze and that was really a minor thing
overall. The 'hole' across the street was
again funded by the State Legislature
and the Fed Gov which can make it
possible for the Hotel to fund its'
operations.
All that I can say in my area is, like
the Bulls, the Bears, the Cards, the
Cubs, and the White Sox — we'll see
you next year.

I got a feeling I missed the boat on this
issue, but here goes anyway. My Sec.
has been doing her thing, for the last
nine months she has missed only two
meetings at the Township Committee,
and since June 28 she has taken over the
V.F.W. Aux. Meetings. When I get home
from work at 10:00 p.m. I've got the
place to myself also the T.V. I relax a bit
and have a late snack and wait. I get all
the news at about midnight or a little
after. When my Sec. runs out of things to
do I'll get her at the typewriter for this
report.
News from Alvin Baumgartner. We
are leaving July 29th on a European
Farm Tour for 16 days. So won't make
the reunion this year. Check for dues
enclosed. Alvin is in (Hq) Co.
From Nick Lupo & Louise; (C); Truly
sorry to have missed the reunion in
Springfield but our son was married July
24th. We couldn't very well miss that
party. The Johnson's & Lupo's had a
reunion at Bottmillers in Aug.
