TO THE STUDENTS OF
HOWARD PAYNE UNIVERSITY
This is an exciting time to be a part of the Howard
Payne family. Truly, this university is "Building for
the Future," and we are glad you are a part of it.
Campus renovations since the beginning of the 2004-2005 academic year include:
* The new E-Caf6 in the Mabee University Center, complete with a T.V. lounge,
four new Internet kiosks, comfortable booth seating and other improvements;
* New paint, carpet and chairs in the Beadel Dining Area;
* New paint, tile and carpet in Veda Hodge Hall and Taylor Hall;
* Increased campus safety features; and
* Expanded wireless Internet access and updated HPU website.
As changes continue, students will see:
* A new 32-bed apartment complex ready for occupancy in the 2005-2006 year;
* An expanded parking facility on the site of the former Art I Building and the
Efficiency Apartments;
* A newly renovated Coca-Cola Building to house the HPU Art Department; and
* Phased renovations to the historic Mims Auditorium.
As we continue "Building for the Future," we do so with the hope that your HPU
experience will become better and better! The future of HPU is, indeed, bright.
Sincerely,Lanny Hall, President
