The T. E. L. Sunday schpol
class of the South Seminole Bap-
tist church held their annual
Christmas party and program
Friday night in the lovely new
home of Mrs. E. C. Nix, sr. with
thirteen members attending.
Red and green colors were
used in Christmas decorations
which included much holly, mis-
tletoe and other greenery. A
huge wreath was placed on the
front door and an arch of green-
ery framed the double doors in-
to den adjoining the living
room. Matching circular wreaths
of holly tied with red satin were
on either end of the mantle with
a lighted manger scene in the
center.
The dining table was laid with
lace over red and centered with
a miniature Santa Claus in sleigh
drawn by tiny white reindeer
surrounded by a ring of holly.
Tea plates featured traditional
light Christmas refreshments
and were made colorful by Santa
Claus faces of pimento on open-
face oval crackers.
After a short business meet-
ing a Christmas program in-
cluded singing of Christmas
carols with Mrs. OUie Hurst at
the piano and a reading "The
Littlest Angel" by Mrs. P. W.
Dalmont. At the close of the
program gifts were exchanged

Beavers Are Hosts At
Annual Club Dinner
Members and guests of the
Tuesday night bridge club
gathered in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. A. A. Beavers at 6:30 Mon-
day evening for their annual
Christmas dinner and exchange
of gifts.
Included in unique house dec-
orations was a huge door greet-
ing: "Come in, Folks! Merry
Christmas" inscribed beneath a
lighted Santa Claus face. Guests
were greeted by Mrs. J. R. Roach
who presented them with color-
ful Christmas cards which serv-
ed as place cards and tallies.
They were seated at game tables
for a delicious buffet dinner
served from a table laid with
white linen and centered with
a red sleigh and Santa drawn by
white reindeer which was placed
inside a circle of greenery. Tall
red tapers stood in double crys-
tal holders surrounded by tiny
multicolored Christmas balls.
At the conclusion of games of
bridge high scores went to Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Neal and the
traveling prize was won by O.
R. Gober.
Those attending were Messrs
and Mesdames W. H. McCoy,
Watson Thorpe, B. P. Morgan,
Seth P. Woltz, Jack Neal, J. R.
Roach, Charles Ray, O. R. Gober,
Hardy Dalmont, who were
guests; and the host and hostess.
Methodist SS Class
Has Yule Party
The Suzanna Sunday school
class of the First Methodist
church met Thursday of last
week in the home of Mrs. H. B.
Patterson, sr. for their annual
Christmas party, at which time
they noted the birthday of Mrs.
R. L. Turner and presented her
with a variety of lovely gifts.
Traditional Christmas decora-
tions were used throughout the
house, with the Christmas tree
the center of attraction. Red
candles in a circle of Winter
greenery was featured on the
dining table and on occasional
tables.
A short program included
"The Christmas Story" given by
Mrs. Preston Florence and
"Stories of Christmas in Foreign
Countries" told by Mrs. E. C.
Estep. Mrs. Estep also offered
the closing prayer.
Following the program de-
licious holiday refreshments
were served and gifts were ex-
changed.

dames Florence, Estep, Lissie
Burrows, J. W. Strickland, C. T.
Wescott, Milam Parker, R. L.
Turner. Guy Stark and Edna
Mae, T. A. Isabell, C. C. Maloney,

To Miss Virginia Stanley
A series of courtesies are be-
ing extended to Miss Virginia
Fay Stanley, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. P. J. Stanley, who is
the bride-elect of Sgt. Claude
Edward Roberts of Hunter Air
Force Base, Savannah, Ga. He
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
George Roberts of Rice Lake,.
Wisconsin.
Date for the wedding has been
set for Friday, December 21 and
the couple will be married here
in the First Baptist church at
6:30 p. m. with the Rev. Holland
Smith, pastor officiating.
Bridal attendants have been
announced at Miss LaRue Mc-
Gowen of Alvin, maid of honor
and DeWayne Singleton df Den-
ver City, best man.
Lingerie Shower
Mrs. C. A. Davis and Miss
Jane Wescott entertained for
Miss Stanley Wednesday at 4:30
p. m. in the home of the former
with a delightfully informal
lingerie shower.
Christmas decorations were
used throughout the house and
gifts were presented to the
honoree and later displayed in
an adjoining room.
Those attending were Misses
Ann Ramsey, Jo Beth White,
Betty Sue Doggett, Wilma Ad-
kins, Francelle Brasfield, Clau-
dine Allison; Mrs. P. J. Stanley
and Mrs. J. W. Everett. Many
who were unable to attend sent
gifts.
Six Women are Hostesses
A miscellaneous shower com-
plimenting Miss Stanley was
given Saturday in the reception
rooms of the First Baptist
church from 2 until 4 p. m.
Hostesses for the occasion were
Mesdames Dale Spence, Eton
Keller, Roy Ownbey, Ramsey, C.
T. Wescott and N. E. Abshier.
They combined the Christmas
and bridal theme with a color
scheme of white and pastel blue,
chosen colors of the bride-elect.
On a table covered with white
linen a clever church was built
of cube sugar with a miniature
bride and bridegroom at the en-
trance. The church which was
trimmed with the pale blue was
placed on a mirror reflector and
favors were tiny blue and silver
wedding bells tied with blue and
white satin ribbon.
Mrs. Spence presided at the
brides' book and a corsage of
white carnations tied with blue
was presented to the honoree
and her mother.
Gifts were opened and display-
ed for inspection on long white
covered tables at one end of the
room.

Red Candle Theme is
Used at Annual "42"
Club Christmas Party
The Seminole "42" club held
their annual Christmas party
Tuesday night in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cravy.
A red holiday candle theme
was carried out in all appoint-
ments including table covers,
tallies and room decorations.
Members had drawn names
earlier and packages for ex-
change were placed beneath a
beautifully lighted and decorated
silver tree placed in front of
double windows in the living
room. Of especial interest was a
realistic little church made of
sugar cubes which was placed
on t the console on glitter
sprinkled cotton snow with a
group of tiny carol singers in
the background.
The polished surface of the
dining table was centered with
clusters of greenery and multi-
colored Christmas balls and red
leaves placed between two huge
red candles.
PERSONALS
Mrs. Charles E. Sherrill of
Austin is expected to arrive
Monday to spend a few days
here with Mr. and Mrs. C. V.
Singleton during the holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rollins and
sons, Pat and Mike, and daugh-
ter, Mary Linda of El Paso, are
guests in the home of his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Rollins.
Mrs. Marion Brown spent
Tuesday in Brownfield where
she attended the formal open
house dedicating the new Brown-
field Municipal Building.
