"My Dog Could Do That" is

Barbra Clack of Albany.
Art projects planned for this
summer include stained glass
:!: making, print making and pho- ,
tography. Students will also
have the opportunity to visit
with artists and tour museums
v. in Dallas, Fort Worth and Abi-
lene through various field trips.
The Clacks are teachers in
; Breckenridge, and have been
: instructing students in the arts
for many years.
"My Dog Could Do That" as a
program provides students with
not only the knowledge of the
essential elements of art, but
also the invaluable first-hand
experience of viewing wonder-
ful collections outside Of Albany
and discussing art one-on-one
with actual artists.
The OJAC staff and the
Clacks urge students and par-
ents to sign up now, because
space is limited.

Recital scheduled
The Dance Theatre Company
of Albany will present its spring
recital, "Showtime," on Friday,
June 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Al-
1 bany High School auditorium.
• ' The company is made up of
• about 125 dancers ranging in
1 age from three to 18. Betsy Par-
sons is the director of the Dance
j' Theatre Company. ,
Six local senior students will
■ ■ be featured in this year's re-
cital, as well as two girls from
'Breckenridge. Seniors are
: ■ Bethany Sailers, Jesaica Lucas,
Branch Hambright, Ashleigh
Skelton, Ragan Riley, Kefen
Liming, Ashley Hall and Jaci

Practice to begin
Thefirst practice for the 1999
summer, version of the Fort Grif-
fin Fandangle will be held next
Wednesday evening, May 12,
starting immediately after
church services at 8:00 p.m.
Square dancers from four
i, years of age on up should meet
fit the Prairie Theater for their
first rehearsal, with Huppi Hi
practice to follow at 9:00 p.m.
H.uppi Hi participants are teen-
age dancers in junior high and
high school
The first general practice for
the summer production is set
for Thursday, May 13, after the
.cast takes this week tiff. The
rehearsal will take place at the
Prairie The at 5/1
Anyone interested in being a
part of the summer production
should attend next Thursday. "I
hope everyone enjoys their Week
. pff, because the schedule will
start up fast and furious after
this, commented the director,
Betsy Parsons,
She encouraged new cast
members to join those who were
in the sampler cast. "We'll see
who's there the first week and
work on some production num-
bers, then we can assign the
parts and get busy with smaller
rehearsals,"
Several new songs will be in-
cluded in the 1999 show, as well
. as a few old ones that haven't
been used in a while.

The 1999 Fandangle will have
its first full practice on May 13
at 8:00 p.m. at the Prairie The-
ater.
• AMP Auditions
Auditions for the next pro-
duction of the Albany
Mainstreet Playhouse will be
May 17 & 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Aztec Theater. The production
will be August 6 & 7 at the
Whitney Theater.
• Art Carnival
The Old Jail Art Center is
having an Art Carnival on May
* 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
There will be lots of family ac-
tivities and local school artwork
to enjoy. ,

Chamber lunch will be Fri-
day at noon at the Fort Griffin
General Merchandise.
