VV. M. Bass of Ft. Griffin on a charge
of murder The papers were proper-

Since Mr. B;f>s' residence in this
county he has proved himself to be
one of our bvst citizenn ; honest, up-
right and industrious, having been
employed several years, by Judge J.A,
Matthews on his ranch. He has a
host of Iriends here who extend
sympathy to him in this trouble, and
hope that he may soon be released
and return to his family and friends
in this county

The name of the new school is the
Reynolds Presbyterian Academy.
Application for a charter was mailed
last Wednesday.
The management is vested in seven (7)
trustees, five (5) of whom must be
members of Jbe Presbyterian church.

Commissioner's Court convened in
rtgulitr session on Monday, February
14th, 1898, with all members present.
The quarterly reports of the various
officers w^re examined and approved.
As usuil at such meeting at the
close of the year the routine wors was
taken up and disposed of.
R. Ilourigan was appointed presid-
ing officer of elections for precinct
No. 2
.1. A. Gholsfon was appointed pre-
siding officer of elections for precinct
No. 4.
The voting precincts to remain as

Judge Matthews was selected as a
commute to procure a dumping place
to deposit the refuse 'that is hauled
from the town.
