ment for graduation. To satisfy this minimum
requirement, each undergraduate
student must earn 4 chapel-assembly credits.
A transfer student may satisfy the
requirement by earning chapel credits
equal to at least one-half of the total number
of semesters needed at HardinSimmons
to complete the degree. Chapel
credit from evangelical, church-related institutions
may be transferrable, subject to
approval. One credit is awarded for attendance
at 20 chapel/assembly programs.
Deferments for attendance during the
freshman or sophomore year may be
obtained only upon written petition to the
Office of Religious Activities.
The number of chapel credits required
for a nursing student is limited to the
number of semesters of enrollment in
courses on the HSU campus prior to entry
into the upper-division, professional
segment of the nursing program.
Students attending night classes only
during a given semester are exempt from
this requirement during that semester as
are commuting students enrolled in only
MWF classes. A student enrolled in 11
hours or less is not required to attend.
Students living in the residence halls are
not exempt from chapel attendance because
of a reduced load or an MWF
schedule.
For further information about chapel,
contact the Religious Activities Office or
see the section on Chapel-Assembly
Attendance in the Student Handbook.
