Easy way to break the small car habit!
It's the hardtop buy of the year
with the most power and size per
dollar of any car in this style.
If you're accustomed to buying in the low-
priced-three range, chances are you're paying for
Pontiac's size, performance and distinction—
but you're not getting it! As a matter of fact, you're
not even coming close!
Where else at a price so low ,can you enjoy boss-
ing the most modern, most advanced power plant
in the industry—the mighty Strato-Streak V-8?
Where else at a price so low can you get t.h«
luxury of Pontiac's optional Strato-Flight Hydra-
Ma tic—America's newest, smoothest automatic
transmission?
Where else at a price so low can you find a big
122-inch wheelbase, such luxurious interiors and
all the other fine-car features that put you so
squarely on even terms with buyers of far costlier
cars? Come in and see how easily this heart-lifting
Strato-Streak beauty can be yours. Once lyou
do, you'll be out of the small-car class forever 1
You can actually buy a big, glamorous Pontine 860for less
than you would pay for M models of the low-priced three!

From one of our exchanges
we hear that the Pecos basket-
ball coach is not a very popular
man among the schools of the
district, due no doubt to the one-
sided scores he has all6wed his
five - man team to build up over
a couple of schools. In fact our
informant tells us he is due for
a "dressing down" when the
coaches and superintendents of
the various schools meet after
the district race is over. That
Pecos coach must not figure to
coach basketball at Pecos after
this year If he does intend to
stay, he is really asking for it.
There is not a single coach in
the district who will not bewait-
ing for him next year or the
year after. Pecos will not be able
to field winning teams year after
year and we can imagine some
of the scores which will be
heaped on it if other teams can
do it. We have heard rumors that
Pecos would not have integrated
its schools this year had not
there been a couple of colored
players it needed for its basket-
ball team. Nasty thought, isn't
it.

'Local politics isn't even sim-
mering at this point of the game,
and we don't look for any start-
ling developments later. The city
will hold its election in April and
we haven't heard any rumors of
candidates running for the
chance to make the race for
mayor and two aldermen. Earl
Denton anounced this week that
he would seek another term in
office as mayor. We haven't
heard from the other two candi-
dates for aldermen, C. O. Wright
and Dr. N. C. Steger, but pre-
sumably they will run again.
Group lo Attend

Among the topics to be dis-
cussed will be: How can the bus-
inessman make his voice heard
more effectively? How do you
get businessmen t o cooperate
more closely in community bet-
terment? How do you inspire
people to greater unselfish com-
munity service? How do you
spark the interest of non - mem-
bers and stimulate enthusiasm of
members? How do you achieve
better government?
Among thfr discussion leaders
will be Dwight Havens, Walter |
B. Petravage, James G. Roberts,
Lester G. Flesner and James L»
Craig, Jr., all of whom are con-
